Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe

I love going to HK. I love the sights, the fashion, the malls, the parks, the amusement parks, Disneyland, the weather (esp around this time and until April) and the food.

I wanted to experience xmas in HK, Korea and NY but spent xmas in KL and SG instead. But I'll definitely go there one of these days.

I wanted to try the shaved ice creations of Lugang Cafe, but they were full and had quite a number of customers waiting to be seated that I don't think they would accommodate someone with just a shaved ice order, that I walked around the mall a second time to dine somewhere new, that's when I saw Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe.

What a coincidence, as I was also thinking of HK food for days now.

There were a lot of familiar HK and Macau cafe food, that choosing what to order was hard work.
I wanted to try them all at once.

But since it's not possible as I was a solo diner, I narrowed down my choices to the Cheese Baked Rice with Fish Fillet and Fish and Chips. But when I asked the waiter, he said that the Baked Rice was the popular order than the Fish and Chips. I went with what's popular and ordered Cheese Baked Rice with Fish Fillet.

I were also told that the rice was cooked with butter. So that made it a buttered rice with breaded fish fillet topped with generous amount of cheese.

It was an indulgent and very filling dish, that's also hard to finish in one sitting, or was it because I just had a Gong Cha Matcha Smoothie on my way there?

Anyways, I can't wait to go back and try some more of the dishes. They gave me a Cafe de Coral vibe, that was very comforting and familiar.

Secret Recipe Chocolate Cheese

Photobucket
It was very dark, even the chocolate chips on top tasted like coffee. But I like it. I like that it wasn't that sweet and that the cheesecake was thick but smooth.
Actually I was thinking of going back and buying some more chocolate cheese slices or maybe a whole cake this time, I know I can finish it in a new york minute.

Tony Roma's

Had a post valentine's date with my husband at Tony Roma's in Makati.

Ordered The Roma Feast with regular slab ribs, BBQ chicken, sausages, coleslaw and corn on the cob.
We had the corn on the cob replaced with fries. Why? Because we both love fries.

Everything was good. Even the complimentary bread and butter. I just always pair my ribs with rice and coleslaw. Everything else I can eat with fries and bread, just not Tony Roma's ribs. They're just so rich that they should be paired with something bland like rice.

My husband also ordered Long Island Ice Tea.

It was good according to him.

Sinfully by Shangri-La

While walking around Greenbelt 5, we saw Sinfully by Shangri-La.

I liked Shangri-La's Chocolate Croissant that I immediately went inside to buy some. Unfortunately though, it was already sold-out. So, I just chose from what's available. I bought the following:

Crumble Brioche

It has a custard filling and was topped with a crumble that tasted like polvoron.
The custard was as sweet as condensed milk. While the brioche was not as buttery as I imagined nor wanted.

White Chocolate Donut

When I asked if it's baked or fried, I were told that it's baked, that I immediately bought one as I like Jipan's Baked Mochi Mochi Donut. Plus, it's big.
Compared to Jipan though, Sinfully's baked donut was more like a bread coated with a sweet white chocolate than a donut.

Ube Ensaymada

My husband didn't like this. I feel the same. It tasted cheap and not like something from a hotel bakeshop.

Raisins Almond Scroll

This was better than the Ensaymada. A good pastry paired with tea or coffee.

NSG

My husband and I went to Greenbelt to have dinner at NSG  (National Sports Grill). But we stopped first at CPK for their White Pizza.

Photobucket
I find the ricotta cheese on the pizza kinda weird as it was sweet. But I like the overall taste of the pizza and that it has a lot of cheese.

After pizza at CPK we walked the calories off by shopping and buying sweets, before heading to our real dinner at NSG.

We ordered the Chicken Breast Platter which comes with grilled chicken (cajun or BBQ), coleslaw, firecracker fries, onion rings, fruit and garlic toast.

Photobucket

The firecracker fries were not available that night that we had it replaced with firecracker chips. Fruit is watermelon.

Photobucket

I like everything on my platter, except the watermelon as I am not a watermelon fan.

While My husband had the Chicken Parmesan Penne.

Photobucket

We both liked the chicken parmesan but not the bland penne pasta. He said he should have just ordered the Angel Hair Pomodoro, which a lot of customers were ordering that night.

Photobucket

He also had a Margarita, which he said was sweet and good.
