Gai-daan-jai, is made up of eggs, sugar, flour and evaporated milk. It was called Gai-daan-jai because it resembled miniature eggs. In Cantonese gai-daan means egg.
It looked cute and tasted like any normal waffles but with hollow insides. It should also be eaten warm or right away so as not to make the waffle hard to bite and chew.
Happy Eating!
