Dark Chocolate Doughnut and Chocolate Croissant

After Seattle's Best and Tutto Domani, I still bought some more food for my midnight snack.
I bought a piece each of Dark Chocolate Doughnut, Chocolate Croissant and Chocolate Muffin at Sinfully by Shangri-la. I also wanted to buy Desire, which was their 2nd bestseller cake, made with dark chocolate mousse, creme brulee filling and praline crust, but unfortunately, it was not available that time.

The Dark Chocolate was a jumbo doughnut. I like the chocolate used, as it was evident they used something of high-quality. Come to think of it, I like all the chocolates I bought from Shangri-la, except the chocolate muffin, but the chocolate chips in it I also like.

While the Chocolate Croissant was one of the best chocolate croissants I've tried.

I was already at the counter with the Brioche Hazelnut, when a Filipina cashier told me that the Chocolate Croissant was better than the Brioche. So I came back and changed my order.

She was right, the Chocolate Croissant MOP12, smelled and tasted freshly-baked, was not too sweet and not too flaky but still buttery-good. It also has a strong and dark chocolate taste.

You can really tell by its taste, that they used high-quality chocolates. It was dark and I liked it.

Intercon Manila

While in the Makati area, I decided to try another hotel bakeshop/patisserie, I went in Intercon Manila's Cake Shop.

Here are what I bought:

Blueberry Cheesecake P180/slice

Photobucket
Thick layer of cheesecake topped with blueberry preserves, mango ball and kiwi, dressed with chantilly cream

Photobucket
This was huge. The cheesecake layer has the texture of butter, firm but will literally melt in your mouth. It was creamy, tangy, sweet, tart and dense.

It is now on my top list as the best blueberry cheesecake.

Chocolate Croissant (mini) P25/pc

Photobucket
Mini version of chocolate croissant/pain au chocolat.

This was also good. Buttery, flaky, sweet and chocolatey.

Cinnamon Roll P50

Photobucket
This was not the bread type cinnamon roll like Goldilocks, but more like a croissant cinnamon roll.

Photobucket
Every layer was pillowy-soft and sweet, with lots of raisins and sweet syrup, and with every bite bursting into buttery goodness. I just can't describe how good it was.

The best cinnamon roll for me, taste and size-wise.

Next time I'll try their Pistachio Opera Cake and Chocolate Cake. I just hope they're available.
