Universe Gastrolounge and Nightclub

We were supposed to eat snacks at Starbucks, but were attracted by the different sandwich concoctions of Universe Gastrolounge and Nightclub

My husband had the BLT or Bacon, Linguine, Truffle Pasta and Piñacolada

I, on the other hand, ordered the Cheese Fries, Patty Melt, and Chocolate Cake.

Only the piñacolada was good, the rest were just okay.

TWG Lasagna

My friend and I went to Resorts World Manila for their weekend sale. For dinner we ate again at TWG.

We both ordered their Bolognaise Lasagna. My drink was the Earl Grey Fortune and Chocolate Shake, while she had the Napoleon and Macadamia Shake.

The lasagna was good but was definitely very rich, that pairing it with a shake was a bad idea.

TWG Resorts World

I met up with a friend to watch Thor at Resorts World Manila two weeks ago, but before the movie we had lunch first at Noodle Wok inside the casino.

We shared on Spare ribs, Char Kway Teow and Nasi Goreng. All were good, even the Iced Tea we had for drinks. The only downside was, since it's inside the casino, it was hard to breathe from the cigarette smoke.

After the movie we had the High Tea Set of TWG.

My friend ordered the Chic Set with the vegetarian sandwich, singapore surprise cake and tea with lemongrass. While I had the Fortune Set with salmon and cream cheese sandwich, opera cake with earl grey tea and chocolate, earl grey tea and chocolate macarons and choco truffle mint tea. I love them all.

Mr Kurosawa

My friend and I met up after work at Mr Kurosawa in Resorts World.

I was adamant on ordering the Iwo Jima, that we worked the rest of our orders around it. We added the Smoked Salmon Linguini and the Spicy Tuna Salad.

We were both happy and satiated with our orders. All tasted great, especially the Iwo Jima.
The crust was cracker-like, similar to Joey Pepperoni, and the toppings although simple were fantastic.

We were weirded-out by the mangoes on the Smoked Salmon Linguini, and it also doesn't complement the dish, but with that aside, the smoked salmon tasted more than fine.

The Spicy Tuna Salad had spicy batter sprinkled on top, that not only added flavor but also crunch to the salad. The tuna sashimi tasted fresh too.

And for our dessert drink, we had the Choco Godzilla or a chocolate milkshake topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate powder.

It was like Starbucks chocolate chip frap sans the choco chip.

We would definitely come back for everything.

Because my friend was happy with our orders, he promised me an afternoon tea treat this week. I can't wait.

Cafe Republiq

From the airport I went directly at Resorts World to try Cafe Republiq.

I was the only customer inside, if you won't count Tim Yap and his GMA co-workers as customers, while 2 other sets of customers were outside.

I was asking the waitress for recommendations but were given vague answers, that I just settled for an order of Fish and Chips.

The fish and chips were huge, almost good for two. Sadly though that what it boasts in size, it lacks in taste. It lacks flavor and the breading/batter was too thick.

For dessert I was hoping to try the Molten Cake, but it wasn't available, so I just had the Brownie ala Mode.

Photobucket

The ice cream was the only good thing here and the caramel and chocolate sauces, the brownie, even if it's also huge, was dry and bland.

Would I come back? Not anytime soon. I don't know what to come back for or maybe if I do, I'll just have their molten cake, which I hope by that time, is available.

Kopiroti Kaya Puff

After our Chef d'Angelo dinner, we were ready to go home.

Along the way though we happened to pass by Resorts World Newport Mall and decided to make a pit stop. It was so inviting from the outside, that we decided to have a look-see. Luckily, the mall's time was extended that night to until 12MN. We still have a few more hours to look around and shop some more.

Just as we were shopping, we were offered free Resorts World membership with perks like a hundred peso slot credit, discounts on movie and show tickets and on participating shops and restos.

Photobucket

We signed in and immediately availed the hundred peso slot credit. I lost, but my preggy sister and her husband both won. My sister's even the big winner that day/night.

Because we were still full from our dinner we just had snacks at Kopiroti. We ordered Milk tea, Kopi, Iced Tea and lots of Kaya Puff, a new product, puff with kaya filling for P25 a piece.

We all liked it, from the pastry puff to the kaya filling, that we even bought a lot to take home.
