Le Petit White Chocolate Croissant

Photobucket

I like this, and so does my husband.
Even though the white chocolate drizzle on top and whatever the filling was (white chocolate also according to a staff), tasted more of condensed milk than white chocolate, and that it is not a flaky croissant but more like a doughy one (can be a plus cos it's not messy to eat), I happen to enjoy eating it. Though not as much as I do Shangri-La's Chocolate Croissant, but I do, surprisingly.

Jipan's Wasabi and Spinach

Photobucket
CHICKEN SPINACH PIZZA P70.00
- with marinated chicken, spinach, white sauce and cheese

The bread was so soft while the toppings were proportionate to its size.

You might think otherwise since there's an inch or so space around the edges, but when you eat it you will understand. You'll understand that you needed those inches of untopped bread to break the taste of the toppings ( salty spinach and creamy white sauce).

This is better and filling than other real pizzas.

TUNA WASABI ROLL P55.00

- with Parmesan cheese

The tuna filling was so good that I wish it has more of it. I was also left with quite a few bread that I don't know what to do with it.

It doesn't mean that it wasn't soft because it was, just that compared to the Chicken Spinach, it has a crunchy top brought by the Parmesan cheese that also gave it a salty-garlicky vibe reminiscent of Sbarro's Garlic Roll.

Banana Bread err... Toast

I got the recipe of Banana-Nutella Bread from Jen Tan of in-jen-iosity, but since I don't have nutella spread, I improvised and added walnuts, pecans, raisins, chocolate chips and white chocolate to my banana bread.

The result, a yummy and not too sweet bread, but still not as moist as I want it to be. So, not yet contented, I made it into french toasts the next morning.

Again, I saw it in an episode of Giada's Weekend Getaways in Seattle. She had Caramel Pecan French Toasts in Cafe Nola, who's famous for it.

Instead of the usual brioche, Cafe Nola uses challah, a Jewish bread, on which they added some carrots, thus resembling a carrot bread. They served the toasts with caramel pecan sauce and maple syrup. According to Giada, it's the best french toasts she's ever had, and she's had a lot.

And since it seemed my banana bread's lacking something, an idea of duplicating that came into mind. So, with the banana bread and the rest of the french toast ingredients, I was off to experiment. The result, yummy, yummy, yummy french toast.

I can also say that it's the best french toast I have ever had, but contrary to Giada's remarks, I only had a few =)

Jipan's Denmark Danish Bread

I often visit Jipan's in Glorietta whenever I'm in the area. I like looking at their different selections of breads and pastries. I have also bought quite a lot, from the Japanese cheesecake to the chocolate croissants.

That day I saw something new, the Denmark Danish Bread P100.

Denmark Danish Bread is a bread with almond cream filling and topped with almond slivers.

It was like an almond croissant but thicker. It's good to use as the bread for puddings, but in my case I dipped it in condensed milk, yummy!

From Long Life Bakery

I love eating siopao asado, I also like the mongo pao of Chowking that they removed from their menu a few years back, which up to now I still hope they'll bring back.

To digress from that, I saw the Steam Pao P20/6pcs, while looking at the products of Long Life Bakery. And I bought it on the spot, already thinking of the many fillings I can put inside.

It was soft and sweet, just the way it should be.

Since I was craving for an Estrel's Caramel Cake since December of last year, but haven't had the extra calories up until now (estrel's don't sell mini cakes and their cakes should also be consumed the day purchased), I just settled for the Half Moon P28 of Long Life.

It is a round sponge cake, filled with caramel then fold in half, thus resembling a half moon.

The sponge cake was moist, soft and creamy. While, the caramel filling tasted like yema.

A delicious alternative for an Estrel's Caramel Cake, for now that is.

Another product of Long Life, and also new , is their Carrot Cake P49.

It is made of whole wheat flour, carrots and raisins.

Delicious on its own or with condensed milk, and healthy too =p
