Cafe Breton Deja Vu Crepe

I have been craving for their crepe for almost a week now, but only got to eat it last Monday.

I ordered Deja Vu, a sweet crepe with mangoes, special cream sauce and vanilla ice cream. I just added almonds on my crepe.

Craving satisfied. Make that, I want more of their crepes. I want to eat them every day.

Cafe Breton

After the movie we had snacks at Cafe Breton.

My friend ordered a DIY crepe with nutella, mango, banana and vanilla ice cream, san pellegrino arranciata and chamomile tea. While I had the Tuna Melt and a DIY crepe of almonds and blueberry ice cream.

The tuna melt was good, with just the right amount of mayo oozing out of the sandwich on my every bite. It comes with a side salad that's just okay.

My crepe that night was kinda chewy, with the edges being crispy. My first time to not like a crepe from cafe breton.

Cafe Breton

Went to a check-up with a friend, and did some shopping after.
We had snacks at Cafe Breton in Mall of Asia later in the day, and ordered the following:

Ham, Tomato and Cheese on Buckwheat Galette
Photobucket
- not my favorite from Cafe Breton but was still okay

Spaghetti
Photobucket
- just like McDonald's spaghetti

Crepe with Mango, Mango Sauce and Ice Cream
Photobucket
- too sweet for my friend. She still prefers the Mango with Nutella Crepe

Blueberry Ice Cream with Almonds
Photobucket
- doesn't taste like the ice cream has or was made with blueberries

Cafe Breton

We were supposed to have coffee and desserts at Starbucks after our dinner, but the place was packed. It was 10 minutes before 10PM, and most of the cafes in Trinoma were already closed. Cafe Breton was the only one in the garden area that was still open and that can accommodate all of us.

The rest ordered the usual Deja Vu and Eden Crepes and Mozzarella Burgers. While my niece and I chose from the DIY.

Mine was a sweet crepe with 2 orders of almonds, whipped cream, strawberry ice cream and nutella on the side.
Photobucket

While my niece had the same but with peaches.
Photobucket

I also ordered a hot pot of green tea for drinks.

We were all satisfied with our orders, and were very full from it. As in bursting at the seams full.

Cafe Breton Deja Vu

We wanted to erase that bad experience from TGI friday's that we went to Cafe Breton to wallow in their sweet and sinful crepes.

Photobucket

My preggy friends both ordered Fantastic Pinay with extra vanilla ice cream and almonds, While I had the Deja Vu with extra almonds.

Photobucket
DEJA VU (P211)

Although it was good I found it too sweet and reallllly sinful.

Photobucket

Overly Sweet mangoes with cream sauce, caramel syrup, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Next time I'll just stick with my banana crepe DIY order. Because although it is sweet (but not as sweet as the mangoes), it is also healthy. Bananas have lots of health benefits, one of which is supplying our body with potassium.

Cafe Breton To Go

I have learned just yesterday, to never, never order sweet crepes to go. They don't have a suitable packaging for it, like a styrofoam box or a plastic container, they will just put it in a foil. So, instead of the whipped cream put in a separate container or on top like the other crepe restaurants, they put it inside the crepe and only just a little, not their usual amount, so your order of a sweet crepe wouldn't taste that great. I even regretted having it to go. I should have bought Cheesecake Melliza's Caramel Pecan Cheesecake instead.

Bretonne Galette and Co

Back again at Cafe Breton, we ordered the following

Photobucket
GALETTE BRETONNE (P267)
- spinach, shrimps sauteed with crab meat, fresh cream and Gruyere cheese

Photobucket
So delicious and filling. Not too rich even with the fresh cream and Gruyere. And compared with my previous savoury crepe/galette orders, this was bigger and thicker, that I even let my entire family taste it.

Photobucket
BRETON MOZZARELLA BURGER (P204.75)
- all beef patty with a mozzarella surprise, served with a side salad

Soft and juicy beef patty. Used high quality beef according to my brother-in-law and the rest of my family members. My brother said that this was best eaten cold, the day after.

Photobucket
GO FISH OPEN FACE SANDWICH (P204.75)
- smoked salmon on a bed of scrambled egg and whole wheat toast

Photobucket
I like how soft and creamy the eggs were and how fresh the salmon tasted. It just needed more salmon.

Photobucket
POSEIDON (P238)
- smoked salmon, dill sauce, sour cream and capers

Photobucket
This was my least favorite among their savoury crepes. I don't like the caper and the too tangy dill sauce. Only the salmon and the buckwheat galette were what I liked.

I am aware that dill is the usual accompaniment of salmon, but I really don't liked its taste in the crepe. It was too tangy.

Photobucket
BLUEBERRIES AND CREAM (P228)
- blueberries in syrup and cream, with vanilla ice cream

Mango ice cream was put instead of vanilla.

Photobucket
According to my sister this has a clean, cohesive, simple and light taste than their original sin.

For my dessert, since I already ate 2 savoury galettes (Bretonne and Poseidon), I just had a scoop of caramel ice cream with sliced almonds.

For their drinks they had, Cafe Mocha and Rootbeer Float.

Cafe Breton

A friend of mine raved about their crepes, though she'll always stick to her favorite of mangoes with added nuts, I on the other hand wanted to try them all, one or two at a time.

My first order was their Original Sin
Photobucket

It has apples, whipped cream, caramel ice cream and crushed walnuts.

I was hooked on my first bite. It was just divine.

The crepe was pillowy-soft and buttery and everything in and on it worked together perfectly.

Word of caution, make sure to try first their walnuts before ordering their Original Sin. Sometimes their walnuts taste old. I had twice that experience at their Pedro Gil branch. Now I know better. Another thing, their Mall of Asia branch is generous with their toppings than their Pedro Gil branch.

- MALL OF ASIA

- PEDRO GIL

At times when their walnuts don't taste good, I order it with almonds instead
Photobucket

or when I don't like it to be too sweet, I omit the caramel sauce and whipped cream
Photobucket

Recently this is my usual order,
Photobucket
Photobucket
- crepe with bananas, caramel or strawberry ice cream and almonds

And just last week I got into their savoury crepes.
Photobucket
- buckwheat galette with tuna, onion and bechamel sauce

Photobucket
- buckwheat galette with tuna, onions and cheese sauce

I love their buckwheat galette for savoury crepes than plain crepe. I like everything here except the two sauces (bechamel and cheese -mild cheddar sauce). They were not that good. The bechamel was too peppery while the cheese tasted like their bechamel just with a little tart.

And this was my order just a couple of days ago, Dracula Crepe
Photobucket
Photobucket
- on buckwheat galette again, with mild cheddar, tomato and garlic

Photobucket
Delicious.

Tasted like a super cheesy lasagna, with the melted cheese oozing out of the galette with every slice.

It also gave a slight CPK's Mushroom Ravioli taste. I don't know how but it really did.
