Pancake House

I accompanied my mother with her errands one rainy afternoon, and after doing her thing, it was now time for dinner.

I haven't eaten at Pancake House, since forever. Kidding aside, it has been a while.
There were a lot of new dishes in the menu (new for me), and though it was hard to decide, we both settled for something healthy but still look good (in pictures).

I ordered the Salmon Cakes on Brown Rice Tabbouleh, while my mother had the Spicy Chicken Fillet on Brown Rice Pilaf, both below P200.

The Salmon Cakes tasted more like butter than salmon, although I did see some salmon flakes inside. I do like the dill mayo dip though.

The brown rice tabbouleh was too dry for my taste, but my mother liked it, that I ate her pilaf while she ate my tabbouleh.

While the Spicy Chicken Fillet was really, really really spicy, but dry at the same time.

I like the pilaf though, I like it more than my brown rice tabbouleh. Probably because it tasted like a paella. But it does cloy you easily, that you'll need part of the tabbouleh to balance it out.

I wasn't impressed with our meals though, and probably won't order them again. The salmon cakes (2 small pieces) and spicy chicken fillet weren't enough for the amount of brown rice in the dish.

Starbucks Soy Green Tea Frap

After my facial and diamond treatment at Slimmer's, it was already past dinner and I was hungry and parched.

A few blocks from Slimmer's were Pancake House, Yellow Cab, Mcdo and Starbucks.

I went inside Pancake but were told that they were already closing, Starbucks was open until midnight so I went inside to take a look of what's new to order.

Their display cab was almost empty so a Frap was the way to go.

Strawberries and Cream was my usual order ever since I was told to stay away from teas and chocolates indefinitely. But since it has been half a year without it, I thought that maybe it was already time to bring it back to my diet.

I ordered my favorite green tea frap, but now they also offer a healthier version, which is Soy Green Tea Frap. So I chose to have it with soy milk than non-fat milk.

If you want to go farther, you can have it without the whipped cream.

Well, I didn't notice any difference in taste with the change in milk used. And since I am also watching my cholesterol, I Guess soy milk is the way for me than non-fat.

I also ordered one Five Cheese Turnover and a Chamomile Soy Latte.

The Five Cheese was flaky, buttery, slightly sweet, slightly salty, and tart.  Definitely rich in taste. I will definitely order these again ( five cheese turnover, chamomile soy latte and soy green tea frap).

CBTL Guiltless Chocolate Delight

After watching Monte Carlo (which wasn't that good. I was really disappointed cos I thought there would be a lot of scenic shots of Paris. The synopsis of the movie was an exaggeration),  I wanted to take home some (more) sweets other than the 2 PB, 4 Dark Chocolate Cookies, 2 Real Chocolate Brownies and 1 Peach Danish of French Baker that I already bought. I also bought the Guiltless Chocolate Delight of CBTL (Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf).

The barista told me that not only was it good but it was also sugar-free. I thought that since I was already consuming a lot of sweets, buying something like this will be good for me. Satisfying me without the guilt.

I like it. I like how it tasted, though sweeter than the usual cakes ( trademark of sugar-free desserts). I would definitely buy one again. I like how strong the chocolate taste was. But be sure to eat it chilled, cos it doesn't taste that good melted (the mousse-like layer). It reminded me of a chocolate ice cream sandwich (or rather an Oreo cookie with chocolate ice cream filling). Yummy!
