Guilty Pleasure

This is my guilty pleasure. A box of pizza hut supreme cheesy volcano with new episodes of fashion police.

Slice Cupcakes

I've been hearing good reviews of their cupcakes. So after buying pizzas at Nolita, I went down at slice to buy some cupcakes. I asked for their best sellers and were told they are Red Velvet and Yema Cupcakes.
I bought one of each. I had to pay an additional P10 for the box as I was having it to go.

Back at home, I tasted first the Yema. The Yema Cupcake was moist and sweet, while the Red Velvet was dry and tasteless.

I don't think they are worth the extra effort of going to Bonifacio Highstreet just for their cupcakes. I still prefer Sonja's Cupcakes.

Chowking Honey Garlic and Orange Chicken

We were too lazy to cook for dinner that we just had food delivered from Chowking.

My orders were the Honey Garlic Chicken, Orange Chicken, Black Gulaman and Nai Cha Tea

I liked the taste of the honey garlic but it didn't seep thru the meat of the chicken but just on the outer/skin layer. Inside, the meat was bland. While the orange chicken was sweet and can sometimes be cloying.

The black gulaman was the usual black gulaman while the nai cha was very sweet. With the tea taste being overpowered by the sweetness

Happy Lemon Matcha with Azuki Bean and Pudding

My usual order is the cocoa with rocksalt with extra pearl and pudding, but yesterday I wanted green tea so I ordered matcha with azuki bean and pudding.

I always have my drink with extra pearl and pudding, but since on their menu board it says it already has pudding, I just added pearls.

When it was handed to me I thought they just forgotten the pudding that I reminded them of it. But I were told that there's really no pudding in that drink and that what's written on the board was wrong. I think they should do something about it immediately as it's misleading their customers.

French Baker Chicken Salad Croissant and Hokkaido Cake

I wanted the Parisian experience that afternoon that I so wanted to order their butter croissant with hot chocolate and pretend I'm in Paris having snacks. But since I just came from Bayo, which was hot as hell, I don't want to drink anything hot nor do I think that just plain butter croissant can tide my hunger. So I ordered the Chicken Salad Croissant instead.

If there's a well done croissant, that's the croissant I was eating that afternoon. But the chicken salad filling was good and the sour cream chips were thick and tasty.

For dessert I tried their new product, the Hokkaido Cake. It was like a fluffy mamon with a cold whipped buttercream filling.

TWG Fortune Tea Set

When I'm craving for something I don't care about the price or the distance or the wait list. Basically I don't care about anything. I just have to eat it or them that instant. In short, I'm back again at TWG.

This time I had the Fortune Tea Set, available only from 3PM-6PM.

For my tea, I chose Christmas Lights Tea. A green tea with almonds and nutmeg. A sweet tea according to the waiter. It smelled sweet, and tasted strongly of almonds. Like the almond cookies I ate a lot of in HK and Macau.

For my sandwich I had the Croque Monsieur. It was really good. With the bread being so buttery like a croissant. It was like having a delicious croque monsieur on a croissant. But I don't like the too earthy taste of the salad.
For my middle layer I didn't choose the scones and muffins combo, but rather had the Singapore Surprise from their cake display. I wanted the chocolate and matcha and the blackforest as I'm a chocoholic. But the waiter said that it's their specialty and that there's a surprise there somewhere. So even if I wanted the chocolate, I ordered the Singapore Surprise instead.

It was like a creamy pudding pie because of the bottom sweet pie crust. The top was bruleed. I wasn't sure if the surprise was the strawberry scattered inside the cake.

For my macarons choices I picked napoleon and caramel, earl grey and chocolate and praline.

And for my take-out I bought a box of 6 of macarons. I chose one each of the caramel, praline, berries and Lemon and two of my favorite chocolate. The berries tasted of baguio's strawberry jam, the praline tasted like a nocciola/hazelnut gelato, the caramel tasted of a strong caramel, the lemon of lemon bars. My favorite were first the chocolate and second the lemon.
