Baskin Robbins

After our Torch meal, we immediately went to Baskin Robbins for dessert.

I chose Pistachio Almond, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Maui Brownie Madness on a chocolate and nuts coated waffle cone. Unlike Coldstone Creamery, Baskin Robbins waffle cone is made to order.

We didn't know they will be this big, that we each order our own and not share like what those after us did. We know better next time.

Torch

I often read about them on celebrities' instagram posts. That when my friend asked me where we'll eat, I immediately said, at Torch.

As I love anything with truffle, we ordered the Truffle Fries for appetizer.

They weren't as good as Bistecca or Lusso, that I didn't fight with my friend for the last piece.

For our pizza, we ordered half White Truffle Sausage Pizza and half Philly Cheesesteak Pizza

We both like the white truffle sausage pizza more, as the philly cheesesteak pizza was too salty for our taste.

For drinks, I had the Pink Lemonade.

Bizu Macarons

I love macarons, especially TWG's Earl Grey and Chocolate, that I bought Bizu's new macaron flavors all made with Valrhona chocolates.

They were better than their old flavors, or maybe I'm just biased as I love chocolates :)

CPK and Family Mart

I really like CPK's Kung Pao Chicken that I often order it. I did again just last Tuesday.

And for dessert, I finally got to try the Green Tea Sundae of Family Mart

It's an okay sundae and for just P25, you can twirl as much ice cream as your cone can fit.

Conti's Molten Chocolate Lava Cake

My husband loves chocolate melting cake, that he eats one almost every night. And every time he calls, he never fails to mention about eating it. That got me curious as I love lava cake too. But I don't think I would be able to try it, unless I book a cruise at Carnival. So when I saw one at Conti's in Greenbelt, I bought a couple to try.

They were good, especially when warmed for a few seconds.

Burger Bar Onion Rings

My friend and I love Burger Bar's Shroom  Burger, that we went to Greenbelt after our Dolcelatte lunch.

We ordered that and another favorite, the Onion Rings. I had White Cow for drinks, and Rootbeer Float for my friend.

Sumosam

We just ate Burger King's BBQ Whopper Meal inside the cinema ( we watched The Great Gatsby in 3D), so as soon as we went out, we looked for something good to eat. We settled at Sumosam in Greenbelt.

I ordered Tori Chizu, Chicken Teriyaki, Japanese Fried Rice and Green Tea Popsicle, while my friend had California Maki, Japanese Carbonara, Chicken Teriyaki, Green Tea Iced Tea and Pistachio Popsicle.

I like the maki, japanese fried rice and carbonara, although the noodles were soggy. I don't like the tori chizu as they included the chicken skin in the roll and I don't eat chicken skin. The green tea popsicle was better than the pistachio, even if there's pistachio in every bite of the popsicle, it was "nakakaumay".

Burger Bar The Rising Shroom

After a lot of shopping, my friend and I stopped for dinner at Burger Bar. We were told by the hostess on the steps that we were the 7th in line, but when I went inside to give my number, I saw a lot of vacant seats, thus I asked a server if we can be seated right away. She asked around and then said yes and walked us to our seats.

It was my friend's first time and my second. I wanted to try the The Rising Shroom the first time, so that's what I ordered. My friend, upon reading the "white truffle creamed cheese" description on the menu, ordered the same. We added Onion Rings, Brown Cow Float and the Molten Chocolate Bottoms .

We both love our The Rising Shroom Burger and Onion Rings and would definitely order them again. I love, love, love the white truffle creamed cheese on the burger and the patty's very juicy and the bun was also good. Everything in this burger was good. My friend shared my sentiments. She also said that the onion rings don't taste like it has onions and tasted very good. She also loves her Brown Cow Float.

What we don't love was the Molten Chocolate Bottoms. The ice cream on it was melted already that it doesn't taste nor look like ice cream anymore. In short the molten chocolate bottoms was like a milkshake with the melted cream and ice cream and the all lava cake.

TWG Chic Tea

Every week I'm at TWG, either alone or with friends. Last Saturday I was with a childhood friend. I told her we should have their afternoon tea set.

She chose my favorite fortune set. Croque Monsieur is also her sandwich. For her macarons she chose lemon, praline and rose. For her tea, summer palace. She wanted polo club tea upon my mention of caramel but it wasn't available.

Just to shake things up I ordered from their chic set. I were told royal and imperial were their best sellers. I chose imperial. My finger sandwiches were foie gras, chicken with cream cheese infused with comptoir des indes tea and cucumber and cream cheese infused with earl grey fortune. Chocolate tart was my cake and crimson hill was my tea.

All 3 finger sandwiches were good. Crimson hill is a green tea with passion fruit and marigold while summer palace is also a green tea with fruits and flowers. My crimson hill smelled divine but summer palace tasted better. We both chose chocolate tart as our cake. It's a tart version of their earl grey and fortune macaron which is my favorite. It's good but best shared as it's very sweet.

TWG Latest

Overheard one server telling a customer that the silver moon tea (green tea with strawberries and vanilla) is their best seller. It was also recommended to me by another server when I asked for a green tea recommendation. But he said that it has a fruity taste which I don't like that afternoon. What I did have was the polo club tea, or green tea with caramel.

It's caramel colored and smelled of it too. It has a mild sweetness but with a stronger tea aftertaste than the christmas lights and sakura! sakura! tea.

I still got my favorite fortune tea set with croque monsieur and singapore surprise cake again. I can't help it. It took me a long time (20 minutes) to decide on my cake. In the end I still got my favorite singapore surprise. It won over the matcha chocolate, the caramel, the vanilla bourbon (puff pastry mille feuille with vanilla, bourbon and raspberries), the blueberry tart, and all the other cakes on display.

Guess my favorites won't change for a long time.

TWG Fortune Tea Set

When I'm craving for something I don't care about the price or the distance or the wait list. Basically I don't care about anything. I just have to eat it or them that instant. In short, I'm back again at TWG.

This time I had the Fortune Tea Set, available only from 3PM-6PM.

For my tea, I chose Christmas Lights Tea. A green tea with almonds and nutmeg. A sweet tea according to the waiter. It smelled sweet, and tasted strongly of almonds. Like the almond cookies I ate a lot of in HK and Macau.

For my sandwich I had the Croque Monsieur. It was really good. With the bread being so buttery like a croissant. It was like having a delicious croque monsieur on a croissant. But I don't like the too earthy taste of the salad.
For my middle layer I didn't choose the scones and muffins combo, but rather had the Singapore Surprise from their cake display. I wanted the chocolate and matcha and the blackforest as I'm a chocoholic. But the waiter said that it's their specialty and that there's a surprise there somewhere. So even if I wanted the chocolate, I ordered the Singapore Surprise instead.

It was like a creamy pudding pie because of the bottom sweet pie crust. The top was bruleed. I wasn't sure if the surprise was the strawberry scattered inside the cake.

For my macarons choices I picked napoleon and caramel, earl grey and chocolate and praline.

And for my take-out I bought a box of 6 of macarons. I chose one each of the caramel, praline, berries and Lemon and two of my favorite chocolate. The berries tasted of baguio's strawberry jam, the praline tasted like a nocciola/hazelnut gelato, the caramel tasted of a strong caramel, the lemon of lemon bars. My favorite were first the chocolate and second the lemon.

Conti's Dulce Cheesecake

After our Chili's dinner and a short shopping at the rest of Greenbelt 5, we (my friend and I) went to Conti's to buy a mini of her favorite Mango Bravo and a box of 8 of Chicken Pie and Polvoron.
I wasn't in the mood to buy a whole cake, and buying a slice of mango bravo to go will just result in melted cake. So I just bought a slice of their recommended cake of the moment, the Dulce Cheesecake.

Caramel flavored light cheesecake on a graham crust with a layer of caramel mousse and whipped cream

The mousse part was like caramel ice cream, the cheesecake part was too tangy that I wasn't able to taste any caramel in it, but was thick, while the crust was buttery. I like this new cheesecake from Conti's as there's balance in sweetness and tanginess. as the sweetness of the caramel mousse jives with the too tangy cheesecake layer.
