Korean Cold Treats
I saw them while doing my weekly groceries at Metro Supermarket. All were good. The Lotte Double Bianco even had a foldable mini-spoon tucked inside the bottom of the cup.

Sweet Beginnings Dark Chocolate Revel Bar
Didn't taste the dark chocolate and they were too sweet too and were mostly chocolate and just a little of the oatmeal mixture.
Why is it that the only good desserts at Parvati were Dezato's Mochi and Gigi's Custaroons and Poppers? All the others that I have tried were mostly failures.

The first time I tried them at Market Market, I was very impressed, that I can't stop thinking about their S'mores and the chunks of chocolate in it.
So I was very happy when I spotted them again at Trinoma after my autograph signing session with Kim Hyun Joong.

I bought 4 pieces of the S'mores Cookies and 4 pieces of the Dark Chocolate Cookies. Both their best sellers. Their number 1 and 2 top sellers.

-s'mores cookies

- dark chocolate cookies
When I went home I was excited to eat the S'mores but noticed a change in everything. Although the chunks of chocolate were still present, the taste and the chewiness were slightly altered unfavorably, that I just ate the chocolate chunks and discard the rest. Same with the Dark Chocolate. It wasn't chewy, nor moist, but just plain hard and crumbly. The dark chocolate taste wasn't prominent too. Too bad as I was impressed with our first meeting. I don't know if there's just no consistency in their products or if they change their recipes. Whatever it is, I just hope that they'll bring back the old cookies that I love.

Starbucks Chocolate Rum Cheesecake
French Baker Brownies and Peach Danish
My usual purchase at French Baker are their Dark Chocolate Cookies, but when they only had one piece of it left, I had to buy something else to bring home for my hibernation. I bought a box of Brownies and a piece of their Peach Danish.

I don't like the crusty top of the brownies but the moist half I do. The peach danish was also good more so if you are a peach lover.

Cafe Mary Grace Chocolate Truffle Cake
The name was misleading. It shouldn't be named Chocolate Truffle but Chocolate Caramel Cake instead.

The supposedly truffle in between the chocolate cake, have a darker caramel taste than chocolate.
Somewhere there I was reminded of Polly's chocolate cake. Must be the condensed milk + chocolate taste that I was getting from it. But compared with Polly's, Mary Grace Chocolate Truffle will make you feel guilty after. I can finish an entire 8x12 Polly's cake in one sitting, but I can only finish a slice of Mary Grace Chocolate Truffle. Maybe because it was way sweeter too.

In spite of all that, it is now my favorite order at Cafe Mary Grace. I buy a slice or two every other day, and whenever they ran out of it, I feel sad. That must mean something, right?

A Day of Favorites
After my unsuccessful attempt for the nth time to redeem my Shui Hilot Spa massage voucher (I have been making a reservation since May, but were always given the same answer of we're fully booked or whom do you made a reservation to, as there were none written here, as if I am willing to waste a high cab fare for a 0% chance of being accommodated). I promised myself that that was the last as I don't want to waste my time and money anymore with them. I am refunding my voucher.
I was a customer since last year and was always been accommodated even on occasions that I don't have reservations. So I am really sad with what's happening now with Shui. In their attempt to attract new customers they are sacrificing/losing old customers like myself.
Enough with that/them.
Disappointed with Shui I went to TGI Fridays for a snack to lift my sagging spirit.

And what else would bring a smile to my face but an order of one of my Friday's staples., the Chicken Fingers.

An order was still filling. The chicken strips big and tender and the fries incredibly crispy. The mustard dip was just too tangy that afternoon.
After my Friday's snack, I had a lot of shopping done ( to further lighten my mood) and lost track of time. It was already 845PM when I noticed that I still haven't had dinner nor a drink yet.

- I wish! :-)
I passed by Cha Time in Landmark and ordered my favorite, Large Matcha Red Bean Smoothie, which I drank happily on my way to Bonchon in Greenbelt.

As this was an "all my favorites day", I ordered my Bonchon favorites, Soy Garlic Chicken Chops (4PCS) and Kimchi Coleslaw.

What a great dinner to cap off my night.......
Wait a minute, not yet, as there's still dessert.

I bought a couple of Pecan Butterscotch (very chewy), Belgian Revel Bars ( the chocolate's taste was not that good, but the oatmeal mixture was delicious - buttery and sweet) and Fudgy Brownies ( which were fudgy and chewy, but lack sweetness) at Crukitchen in SM Makati.

Vanilla Bean Cafe
I have been here years ago and bought the same thing, I just forgot how it tasted thus the repeat, plus it's the one that stood out among all the cakes and bars on display.
I know that the White Chocolate Cheesecake is their bestseller, but so does the Cream Cheese Turtle Pie that I bought.

I ordered this with a hot green tea while I was waiting for Qi Wellness Spa to open.
It was lunchtime but I didn't want to stuff myself as I was scheduled for a massage in just a few minutes.
Well, it was sickeningly sweet and that's coming from someone who loves desserts and sweets, so that must mean something. That's a caveat in itself for those who would order it.

And there's a 10% service fee on every dine in orders but I didn't feel any additional service coming from them. I wasn't even given napkin/tissues or offered water. Basically they just handed my orders of tea and pie and forgot about me. And that's worth 10%.

Meiji Melty Kiss Green Tea
Since I am a green tea fanatic, I am always excited to try anything with green tea, especially green tea with chocolates. Thus when I saw boxes of these in SM, I bought a couple for my niece and I.

The verdict. I don't like it that much, rather not all, but just the green tea part. It was too bitter. The chocolate I like.

Max Brenner Smores
After spending a lot of time inside Le Petit, I crossed-over Max Brenner and look for what's good to bring home.
As I have recently bought, tried and liked Mrs Fields Rocky Mountain, I bought Max Brenner's S'mores.

Layers of chocolate cookie crust, chocolate fudge/ganache and toasted marshmallows.

I absolutely love the toasted marshmallow layer. It has a caramel, vanilla and chocolate taste to it. But I am greatly disappointed with the cookie crust. It's not what you would expect from a chocolate bar like Max Brenner.
Come to think of it. Mrs Field's Rocky Mountain deserves more the high selling price than the S'mores of Max Brenner.

Kocco Brownies
Aside from the Mango Walnut Torte, I also bought a box of 8 of their assorted brownies.
I chose their Classic, Fudgy Swirl and Butterscotch to try at home.

- classic

- fudgy swirl

- butterscotch
Their Fudgy Swirl was a note lower than the Walnut Swirl of Brownies Unlimited in taste, the same goes with their Butterscotch. And even if I like chocolate and nuts together, I still prefer their Classic over their other brownie flavors.

The Classic is a fudgy brownie with chocolate ganache icing. This was fudgy, moist and dark, just the way I like my brownies.

I also followed what a staff of Kocco told me, that their classic brownie is best served warm, when the ganache's slightly melted, so I warmed it up before eating. And she's right, it was decadently-good. But, I still prefer it chilled 'coz I like my brownies fudgy and not cake-like.

Royce Chocolate
At last I was able to taste one of the best chocolates in the world, the others being La Maison Du Chocolat (according to bloggers) and Amedei Chuao (according to an FB Mag, NY survey).
It's really delicious, even my sister who doesn't fancy bitter/dark chocolates, loves it, and so does my husband.
What's not to love? It's buttery soft, well, according to my sister, it has the consistency of butter, firm to the touch but soft on the palate. It is not too sweet nor too bitter, in short, it tastes just right.
The only downside is that you wouldn't be satisfied with having just one.
I had the Nama Bitter, which is their specialty. It comes with an insulator and dry ice. It should always be kept cool. Maximum time out of the chiller is 5 hours.
