One of the featured specials on that day, Thursday. It was the best among the cupcakes I've tried from them.

Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

After our lunch at CPK, my family and I (we're all girls that afternoon plus 2 baby boys) stopped for snacks at Vanilla Cupcake Bakery.

We each ordered a cupcake and drink. Mine was the chocolate chip smores and salted caramel milkshake. Both were not that good, especially the too salty milkshake.

P. S. But we really like the decor in the bakery, so quaint. I would love to have a birthday party there. 

Saturdate

I met up with a friend to get all the stuff I had delivered at her mother's house in Maryland. I arrived half an hour early, so I did some window shopping while drinking my favorite Matcha Smoothie with extra rocksalt and pearls of Happy Lemon. When she arrived, we went to CPK for lunch.

We ordered Kung Pao Chicken Pasta and Meatcravers Pizza. Both were good, but the kung pao was extra spicy that afternoon.

We were given a free dish of the month coupon that I redeemed the day after. I chose the Pepperoni Pizza Roll and added another favorite, the Garlic Cream Fettuccine. The pizza roll was just okay.

For dessert I bought cupcakes from Frostings to take home. Carrot Cream Cheese, Smores Choco Caramel, Red Velvet and Choco Black Out.

SMORES and SWISS

Two other cupcakes from Frostings are the Smores Choco Caramel P40(regular) and Swiss Chocolate P55(premium).


Smores Choco Caramel has a chocolate cake base with caramel filling, topped with marshmallow icing and drizzled with chocolate.


I love that it’s moist and not too sweet. I also love the caramel filling and hoped that it (smores) has more of it inside.


The Swiss Chocolate also has a chocolate cake base with meringue butter cream and milk chocolate icing, topped with Toblerone peaks.


This I also love. Since I noticed that all the cupcakes I purchased from Frostings has fillings, I was excited to find out what’s inside this cupcake. I was a little disappointed that it has none. Still, it was good, from the cake base to the icing and especially the Toblerone peaks.

Frostings Cupcakes

I was looking for Segafredo inside Rustan's in Glorietta but found Frostings instead.
According to a staff they're the sister company of Lemon Squares. So if you like their product, you'll most likely to enjoy frostings too.

Frostings sells cupcakes & chocolate coated marshmallows. They have regular, premium, fruity and super premium cupcakes. For premium their best sellers are the Belgian and Swiss chocolate, the blueberry and carrot for fruity and tiramisu for the super premium.

Since I just wanted to try one, I ordered the Belgian Chocolate Cupcake at P50/pc from the premium selection.


The cake and frosting were made of dark Belgian chocolate and sprinkled with nuts.

When I was eating it, I wasn't bowled over by its taste, but when I got to the middle there was a surprise, a lava center.

It was like a fountain, the fireworks kind, not the one with water. That after the fireworks , the party's over. The same thing goes with the Belgian cupcake. After the lava center, the party's over too and back with the plain-tasting cupcake.

If you have P50 to spare, you can try it out for yourself. But based on what I have tasted, it's not on the same league as Sonja's (taste-wise) but they're priced almost the same.

It's more of just a high-end version of Lemon Squares' cupcakes. Though I would love to try their Strawberries & Cream and Trifle next time, just to see if it'll be a different experience.
