The Dessert Kitchen

I was watching KrisTV last Wednesday, and they were at The Dessert Kitchen in Powerplant Mall. I was anxious to try all their dessert selections that I went to Powerplant Mall that same day.

There were a lot of choices, from Parfaits, Sundaes, Eggettes, Shaved Ice, Taiwan Shaved Ice, to Puddings, that it was so hard to choose. I narrowed it down to Parfaits, Sundaes and Eggettes. But the server said that the Sundae is the best as it's in between light and heavy. He also said that The Snowy Land and The Winter of Love are the bestsellers from the Sundae selection. But as I am a matcha fan, I didn't heed his advice, that their matcha are of the strong type, and still order The Dancing Queen.

Green tea ice cream + red bean + green tea kanten + mini rice balls + milk pudding + vanilla ice cream

My verdict. Their matcha ice cream was indeed the strong matcha type, but I still like it. And at first glance you would think that it's light and wouldn't tide your hunger, but you're wrong. With its layers of ice cream, kanten and rice balls, pudding and another layer of ice cream, it made me missed my dinner, as I was still full from my sundae come dinner time.

St Marc Cafe Rikyu and Matcha Choco Cro

Though both are good. I still prefer the parfait concoctions of st marc than this cone version. And still like the choco cro version than the marble/matcha one. But I will order it once in a while.

TWG New Macaron Flavors

I like having tea at TWG and I often buy macarons to go. My favorite is the Earl Grey Fortune and Chocolate.

Last week as I was buying yet again my favorite flavor, I saw that they have added 3 new flavors to the display. They were salted caramel, sakura and singapore surprise. Though it's my first time to see the matcha (green tea), apparently it was not part of their new flavor offerings.

The salted caramel was good, the surprise didn't taste like their cake version, and the sakura or cherry blossoms with white chocolate was too sweet for me. The matcha was good though, I would definitely buy it again.

Serenitea Uji Matcha with Red Bean and Pearl

My first time here I didn't order drinks, I just had the Corn and the Chicken Chops. Both too salty. This time around I ordered just drinks.

As I am into green tea, I ordered Uji Matcha with mix red beans and pearl. As I was telling my sugar preference, I were told that it's not applicable with their uji matcha, that the sugar/sweetener were already incorporated in the powdered matcha, so there was no way of adjusting its sugar level.

Anyways, I find it okay-tasting. Not that strong as Cha Time's Green Tea, more like a subtle version of Gong Cha's matcha.
