Mrs Fields Double Chocolate Muffin

Photobucket
Photobucket
Chocolate muffin with chocolate chips at P65 a piece.

Photobucket
It's different from S&R's muffin in a way that it resembled more a brownie than a chocolate cake (S&R's like a chocolate cake in texture and taste).

Photobucket
Their muffin was in between a brownie and a cookie. Some areas were like a fudgy brownie and other were like a crumbly cookie. But what stands out was the taste of the chocolate, consistent in almost all of their products, slightly dark and not too sweet.

Dezaato Pan Hazelnut Gelato

Photobucket
Hazelnut flavored gelato (Italian ice cream) at P70 a scoop.

Their version is not only flavored with hazelnut but also mixed with it.

Photobucket
At first lick, it tasted of Kinder Bueno's filling which I adore. But later on it became bland and even tasted of the paper ice cream cup it's on. I don't know what happened but my sister guessed that the chemicals in the cup's too strong that it rubbed on the gelato. Whatever it was, I was really disappointed and I don't think I'll be trying any of their gelato flavors any time soon, except maybe for the Rocher (which the manager said they didn't offer ever since. Then why put it on the menu?) and the other one which name totally escapes me.

Dezaato Pan Choco Banana Mousse Cake

Photobucket
Layers of chocolate sponge cake, banana and chocolate mousse topped with thick chocolate ganache, decorated with chocolate rosette and dezaato pan's chocolate coin.

Perfect combination of chocolate and banana, not one overpowered the other.

Photobucket
I'm not a fan of fruits in my cake but once in a while I can make an exception and dezaato pan's choco banana mousse is one of them. It's so good especially when chilled.

Photobucket
The first time I visited the moa branch, a staff recommended the cake but I was not that sold that I bought the green tea bread instead. This time around another staff offered it to me but I declined and bought a gelato. Not satisfied with just the gelato, I went inside and looked around one more time. A different staff recommended the cake again and seeing my apprehension, said that if I didn't like it he'll personally pay for it. I accepted his offer and tried the cake. Good thing though that he said that or else I wouldn't have tried and liked the choco banana mousse.

Photobucket
I'm definitely sure that I'll be buying one, two or three of it next time. A whole cake perhaps?

Tinapayan Crumbles

Photobucket
Photobucket
CHOCOLATE CRUMBLE
Moist chocolate cake on a pie crust bottom topped with baked crumbles (made with condensed milk according to a staff).

Photobucket
At first I thought that it was their version of a brownie but were later told that it's Chocolate Crumble.

Photobucket
Even if the chocolate cake was moist, the pie crust soft and firm, the crumbles sweet and overall it was good. I'm still not a fan. I hope for the cake to not only be moist but also fudgy. Maybe then I'll change my mind.

Photobucket
STRAWBERRY CRUMBLE
Strawberry cake with strawberry preserves on a pie crust bottom topped with baked crumbles.

Photobucket
I like it more than their chocolate version.

The strawberries taste were light and refreshing. The crumble has just the right level of sweetness that I can eat a couple of this in one sitting without feeling full or heavy.

Photobucket
It was like a trifle and a cheesecake. Similar in taste and texture to Banapple's White Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake. The cake was creamy even without using cream cheese.

Photobucket
Another favorite to be added to the growing list of favorites from Tinapayan.

Tinapayan's Special Ensaymada with Ham

Photobucket
Brioche type bread topped with buttercream and cheese with bits of ham filling.

Photobucket
I haven't eaten that much ensaymada with ham to compare it to, but theirs was soft, fluffy, not too sweet and there was a good play of flavors from the tart melted cheese, sweet ham and caramelized sugar and creamy buttercream. The only thing missing is something salty. They should have added salted egg or use a different kind of ham in their ensaymada.

Photobucket
Even though I like the sweet and creamy combo, I can't help but to look forward for something salty or wish that it has something salty in it.

Tinapayan's Brazo de Mercedes

Photobucket
Layers of pound cake, caramel/yema and cashews topped with meringue and drizzled with sugar caramel.

Photobucket
It is their (Tinapayan) version of Brazo de Mercedes with pound cake.
Although it was good, I still prefer Goldilocks Brazo and Bagoong Club's Brazo de Remedios. A better version of the Brazo would be with their (Tinapayan) custard (the one they use in their cream puffs and eclairs), instead of the yema/caramel they used in here, 'coz that would truly be divine.
