The whole family went out for a full day of shopping. But before going to the mall, we had lunch first at Aristocrat.

The restaurant was packed.

And these were what we had:

- too sweet and needs a lot of ice (I did ask for a glass of crushed ice)

- not as fluffy as Mangan's

- mostly gulaman, but love the ube ice cream on top

Aristocrat

I passed by Aristocrat's main outlet in Roxas Boulevard and bought a couple of their products to try.

I bought Choco Beehive P40 and Chicken Pie P55.



I bought the Chicken Pie out of curiosity. All of the customers ahead of me bought boxes of this.


Their Chicken Pie's crust was the flaky-croissant type variety. It's buttery, flaky and sweet. Inside was a layer of the doughy-type crust then the chicken with potatoes filling.


The filling was too minute and needed more spice and mayo. Good thing though that I like the crust or else I wouldn't be able to finish it.


The Choco Beehive was made up of layers of chocolate cake, custard and meringue frosted with chocolate.


Almost everything in here was good except for the dry and clumpy chocolate cake at the bottom. I really think they should start sifting their dry ingredients 'coz this was the third time I came across such problem. It was such a deal breaker that it ruined the almost perfect dessert.

Aristocrat's Cliffhouse

I never knew that something this special can be found at Aristocrat, aside from their famous Chicken BBQ with Java Rice and Sago't Gulaman, ofcourse. I came to know this from a blog entry at dessertcomesfirst. I was intrigued by its' name and looks and of course, its taste.

It is a triple decker sandwich with chicken ala king, ham, egg & cheese, coated with bread crumbs and topped with cheese sauce.

It's a fully-loaded sandwich. Extremely filling. Carbohydrates, protein, fats and dairy galore.
What caught me first, aside from its size, is its aroma, the aroma of freshly-baked pugon pandesal.
While it was on its way to my table, there were endless stares from the other customers. Maybe they're as surprised as I was.
It's worth a try, especially for those who love monte cristo sandwich and the likes, at least once in your life.
