French Baker Chocolate Cookies and Real Brownie Bar

As I was waiting for my husband to arrive for the afternoon screening of X-MEN, I passed by French Baker and caught a glimpse of the Dark Chocochip Cookie, Chocochip Cookie and Real Brownie Bar, that I bought one each.

The chocochip was similar in taste with their oatmeal raisin cookie, the dark chocochip has a cocoa powder taste, while the real brownie bar was just sweet.

Mr Jones Scampi, Tapa and Honey Drizzled Fried Chicken

I like the food at Mr Jones. I am there almost every week. So when there was a promo from Groupon of P500 for P1000 worth of food, I immediately bought 4 coupons.

Last Friday was my first time to redeem one of the coupons. Incidentally, it was also my husband's first time there.

Even though I frequent the diner, I usually order my favorites and don't try anything new. That afternoon I decided to order something new, the Honey Drizzled Fried Chicken with Homemade Biscuits.

I love, love, love, the homemade biscuits, they tasted very fresh and they were soft and sweet and creamy. I also feel the same with their mashed potato, that's creamy as well. Same thing with the light-colored gravy, that complemented all three (chicken, biscuits and mashed potato).

What I don't like was the over-fried taste of the chicken and how oily it was.

For my husband, it was Tapa and Garlic Overload.

He liked the garlic rice, atchara, vinegar dip and the sunny side-up eggs and also the taste of the tapa. He just doesn't like that it has a lot of fatty parts.

We also ordered Hot & Spicy Shrimp Scampi for appetizer.

Incidentally, I cooked Gambas just the night before. It did taste almost the same. Mr jones was just spicier and has lots of oil. But I like how it tasted. I also like the rye bread croutons dipped on the sauce.

Max's

After we (my husband and I) heard mass and bought a couple of DVDs, we went to Max's for dinner. We were supposed to go to Binondo but shelved the idea when we saw the number of people in Divisoria for the school opening rush on TV (GMA).

I like eating tofu and I like their chicken, so we ordered half of the Regular Chicken, Sizzling Tofu and one order each of Shanghai Fried Rice and Garlic Rice.

We liked everything. The sizzling tofu, which were in between healthy and sinful, were so tasty and filling. Its creaminess worked well with the slight dryness of the chicken. Together, they were fabulous.

For dessert, as we were already full, I just had a Buko Pandan Special to go.

It was creamy, rich, decadent and soooo sweet, especially since at the time I ate it the ice cream had already melted.

Neo Day Spa, Little Asia, Echo Store and Bread Monster

A day after I went out with my childhood friend, I was back again at the Bonifacio Global area.
I availed of a service from Neo Day Spa. My second time actually. And on both times I was satisfied with their service.

It would have been better though if they have a more comfortable reception/lounge area. Because I stayed there for quite sometime waiting for my ride.

After my spa treatment at Neo, I went at Serendra and look around Echo Store for some scrubs and lotions. I wanted to recreate the spa experience at home. I bought Strawberry Scrub versus the Cinnamon and Sugar Scrub that I first liked. I also bought Cocoa Butter Lotion and Lavender Calming Oil.

And to complete my pamper me day, I finished it with a cup of tea and four pieces of my favorite cupcakes at Cupcakes of Sonja (Vanilla Sunshine and PB n J)

BTW, because I so love the Coconut Fish Fillet of Little Asia I had the day before. I went back at Venice Piazza to have an order of Little Asia's Coconut Fish Fillet to go.

And because I always, always have to buy some sweets to take home ( the cupcakes don't count), I bought some at Bread Monster in Market Market which I happened to pass by, on my way to David's Salon on the 3rd floor.

I bought 3 S'mores (best seller), 1 Hazelnut Cookie, 1 Oatmeal Cashew and 1 Fudge.

I like the s'mores because they were soft and chewy but crispy on the edges and they have HUGE chunks of chocolates on random areas. Actually, I like all their cookies. They are all soft, chewy, not too sweet and have crispy edges.

Little Asia

I went out with a childhood friend at Venice Piazza in McKinley Hill last Wednesday.
I chose the place because it would be my first time there and it look good in pictures.

Sadly though, there were limited restaurant options and you can't do anything else there except eat. No stores whatsoever.

Upon scouting the different restaurant we settled at Little Asia.

We ordered the Emperor's Fried Rice, Chicken Teriyaki, Coconut Fish Fillet, Cantonese Fish Fillet and Thai Green Curry with Chicken and Eggplant.

I like the coconut fish fillet the most. It was very tasty. As in the flavors seeped in every layer of the fish. And the fish was very fresh. A slight spicy kick can be felt at the end too. The rest of our orders were good, well except the curry, the coconut fish fillet has more of a curry taste than the curry itself.
