Solomon's Guest House

solomon's
They said that the third time's the charm and they were right.

It was my third time at Solomon's Guest House but only my first time to eat. The two times I went there, they were closed. One for the semester and the other time, I went past their operating hours. Fortunately, I was already briefed by their OM on what's good to order on one of those 2 occasions. He recommended the Jambalaya, Chicken Quesadilla, Nachos with 3-Layer Dip, Beef Pastel and the Chicken Ala Kiev.

Since I have tried most of the dishes he recommended but on other restaurants, I settled for the Beef Pastel P95, which I think is something new.

beefpastel
The pastel, consisted of the beef and the gravy cream sauce were entirely covered in mashed potatoes.

The beef was flavorful and tender, so tender that it melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were soft and creamy and the gravy cream sauce was well-seasoned.

Overall, the staff of the resto were friendly and accommodating, the place was clean, the service was fast and the dish was very good, light-tasting but was very filling.

I would definitely come back to try their Chicken Quesadilla, Tandoori Chicken and Banana Turon Ala Mode.

The Old Spaghetti House

Us girls (my mother, sister & I) went to Robinson's Place last week to watch the movie The Happening of Mark Wahlberg. But before that, we had our merienda at The Old Spaghetti House.

We all had the same order, the Golden Crusted Chicken, Ham & Cheese Crepe with Angel Hair Pomodoro P135 from their Pasta Meals selection. I had my pasta changed to Chicken & Mushroom with Garlic Cream Sauce for an additional of more or less P70.

chixcrepetop
The Chicken and Mushroom pasta is just your usual cream sauce pasta but with lots of chicken and mushrooms.

The Chicken, Ham & Cheese Crepe is a crepe with chicken, ham & cheese fillings, that is breaded then fried. It is served with a gravy sauce.

crepeclose
It was perfectly-seasoned and just lightly breaded.

For dessert we had the Colossal Chocolate Chip Cookie Ala Mode P120. It is a big and warm chocolate chip cookie on a skillet, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce.

cookietop
The cookie though bigger than normal cookies was thin, but nevertheless moist and chewy. The chocolate sauce was good too. An order for me, is just good for one.

TOSH food were just okay, nothing extraordinary.

Ozeano Restaurant by Tamayo's Catering

Last week my family and I went to Ocean Park in Quirino Manila. And as part of the ocean park experience, we wanted to try the fish spa. But since there's a waiting time of 45 minutes, we chose to spend it having late lunch at the Ozeano Fusion Restaurant.

Before we went inside the resto, the cakes on display outside caught our attention. We bought a piece of Fruit Pastry P50 to try.

Inside, each one of us settled for a different set meal, since the lunch buffet's already closed. In my case, I ordered the Chef's Combination Set D at P200.

It consisted of 1/4 chicken, pasta pomodoro, 2 pieces of won ton and a small slice of cake.

Although the serving was too little for its price and was served a little bit cold, the taste was quite good. Especially the pasta pomodoro and the blueberry cake.

It was said on the menu that it was pasta pomodoro but it looked and tasted like bolognese to me.

We all enjoyed our orders and planned to go back at ocean park just for the food.

On our way out, we bought 2 pieces of the Chocolate Mousse P50/pc and another of the Fruit Pastry P50/pc.

The mousse was good, not too sweet nor rich. The chocolate cake at the bottom though was crumbly and dry. But, overall the cake's good.

The fruit pastry has a custard and fruit filling inside . The pastry has the right sweetness and best when eaten with the filling.

Happy Eating!
