Sebastian's Lemon Meringue Pie

I have tried their Mango Sansrival, White Macadamia, Butter Pecan, Cookie Dough and Chocoholic Anonymous and liked them all especially the latter. Now they have a new ice cream flavour concoction, the Lemon Meringue Pie P95/single scoop.

Photobucket
Fluffy meringue ice cream with graham crust chunks and a tart lemon curd swirl.

Photobucket
This was a delicious concoction that I postponed ordering the Chocoholics Anonymous for that day.

Photobucket
The ice cream was so fluffy you won’t even notice that it’s an ice cream.

Photobucket
It really looked and tasted like a Lemon Meringue Pie and anyone who loves it (the pie) would definitely love this one too. I just wish it has more of the graham chunks to cut the tanginess of the lemon curd.

Photobucket
This ice cream also doesn’t melt quickly or like the usual ice cream. I was able to know this from experience. I was too full from my burger and cakes that day, that I decided to bring the ice cream home after 3 mini-spoons of it. It didn’t melt in that more than an hour of commute. There was still that fluffiness in the meringue and the lemon curd was as solid as before too.

Tokyo Tokyo Tofu Steak

Another new item from Tokyo Tokyo is their Tofu Steak for P55 an order.

Photobucket
Five pieces of tofu, battered and fried, topped with sweet steak sauce and chicken bits.

Just by tasting it, it'll be hard to tell that it's tofu. It doesn't taste like one. But it did taste Japanese, even its smell was overwhelmingly-Japanese. The sweet sauce and the chicken were equally good.

Photobucket
I don't advise re-heating it when you have it to go 'coz it wouldn't taste the same, even its texture's different, it'll be rubbery.

Sbarro Chocolate Calzone

Photobucket
A new item from Sbarro, the Chocolate Calzone at P49.

Photobucket
Sweet concoction of creamy ricotta cheese and chocolate chips, finished with powdered sugar and chocolate syrup. It is served hot and fresh that you are expected to wait for up to 20 minutes for an order.

Photobucket
It was served piping hot that almost melted the chocolate chips and powdered sugar that decorated it. It's from the same dough as their garlic rolls and pizzas that I don't think it is appropriate as a dessert but more as a snack. It was buttery, garlicky, chewy, sweet and tart.

Photobucket
When you eat it right away, you wouldn't be able to see and taste the ricotta cheese but more of the chocolate, but when you let it cool or chill, the ricotta cheese will solidify and you get to taste it with the chocolate, a much better way of eating it.

Kagura's Okonomiyaki

At last I was able to try Kagura's Okonomiyaki.

I came in early, about half an hour before they open. While waiting, I was given unlimited hot green tea. It was very good. Like the green tea of Starbucks sans the cream, sugar and milk but was still sweet.

Photobucket
I ordered the Buta-Tama Okonomiyaki P210.

Photobucket
Japanese batter fried cake with pork, egg and lettuce, topped with okonomiyaki/sweet sauce, dried fish powder, mayonnaise and dried seaweed powder.

Photobucket
It was served on a round metal plate on top of a wooden board.

Photobucket

Was it worth the wait? Well, if you're not fond of Takoyaki, there's a slight possibility that you wouldn't like it too. It(okonomiyaki) has a resemblance in taste and consistency with the Takoyaki's batter. It also tasted of a tempura's dipping sauce.

What I love in it, was the sweet sauce, that I asked for an extra serving.

Photobucket
I just wish that it has some sort of a dipping sauce, because at some point it gets cloying.

An order is good enough for 2-3 people. You can finish it by yourself though, but you might be nauseated after.

I also discovered that while it was good eaten right away, it was equally delicious right out of the chiller, when the spices and sauces seeped into every layer of the batter and meats producing a flavorful okonomiyaki in your every bite.

The buns or soft roll were fluffy and buttery, complemented by the not too sweet caramel/yema filling.

Another new favorite that I stock on every time.

Starbucks Cinnamon Swirl

Photobucket
Cinnamon roll with cream cheese/butter cream frosting, served warm.

Photobucket
The almost-melted topping was sooo good, but better if it has more of it.
The roll itself was just okay, not too sweet but a little bit dry. Like it was old and not freshly-baked.
