Le Petit White Chocolate Croissant

Photobucket

I like this, and so does my husband.
Even though the white chocolate drizzle on top and whatever the filling was (white chocolate also according to a staff), tasted more of condensed milk than white chocolate, and that it is not a flaky croissant but more like a doughy one (can be a plus cos it's not messy to eat), I happen to enjoy eating it. Though not as much as I do Shangri-La's Chocolate Croissant, but I do, surprisingly.

Mr Jones Seafood Linguine

After hearing mass at the Baclaran Church, my husband and I went to Greenbelt for some shopping and a movie date (Super 8).

It was so hot that afternoon that we were not only thirsty but also famished after the mass.

I so wanted to try the Seafood "Cioppino" Linguine I saw last week that that was what I ordered at Mr Jones.

Photobucket

I also added 2 orders of Homemade Biscuits and Gravy, one to go.\

The linguine was just okay. The noodles were a little bit overcooked. And when you combined the pesto and tomato sauces in the pasta, there seemed to be a contrast in taste that I'm not that fond of. The seafood there too were mostly mussels and squids and there's too much sauce.

The biscuits with honey and gravy, I really like. I should have bought more to take home.

My husband had the Melted "Old Bay" Crab and Dory Thermidor, upon my recommendation.

Photobucket

He liked it a lot. And I even stole some of his hollandaise sauce for my linguine.

We also ordered Funky Monkey Milkshake.

Photobucket

It was sweet and rich. An instant filler. It was also the first one to arrive. We were halfway with our milkshakes when the rest of our orders arrived. And by that time we were already halfway full because of the funky monkey. I didn't taste the nutella though.

More Mr Jones post to come. I still have 2 coupons to use.

Mr Jones Honey Drizzled Fried Chicken

I like the food at Mr Jones. I am there almost weekly. So when there was a promo from Groupon/Beeconomic of P500 for P1000 worth of food. I immediately bought 4 coupons.

Last July was my first time to avail/redeem one of the coupons. Also, it was my husband's first time there.
Even though I frequent the resto, I usually order my favorites and don't try anything new.
That afternoon I decided to order something new, the Honey Drizzled Fried Chicken and Homemade Biscuits.

I love, love, love, the homemade biscuits. They tasted very fresh and they were soft and sweet and creamy. I also feel the same with their mashed potato, that's creamy as well. Same thing with the light-colored gravy, that complimented all three (chicken, biscuits and mashed potato). What I don't like was the over fried taste of the chicken and how oily it was. And because it was over fried, I ate it without the breading.

My husband had the  U.S. Beef Ribcap "Tapa and Garlic Overload".

He liked the garlic rice, atchara, vinegar dip and the sunny side-up eggs and also the taste of the tapa. He just doesn't like that it has a lot of fatty parts.

We also ordered  Hot & Spicy "Shrimp Scampi" for appetizer.

Photobucket

Incidentally just the night before, I cooked Gambas.

It did taste almost the same. Mr Jones was just spicier and has lots of oil. But I like how it tasted. I also like the rye bread croutons that it came with dipped on the scampi.

Gong Cha Matcha with Pearl and Aiyu Jelly

I first had this in Singapore, just okay, creamy with a medium hint of green tea.

I was excited when I saw their poster in one area of Mall of Asia. I was excited to have Golden Ovaltine, which I had in Singapore. Sadly they don't offer it here. They should cos it's very good.

Max's Sizzling Tofu

After we (my husband and I) heard mass and bought a couple of DVDs, we went to Max's for dinner. We were supposed to go to Binondo but shelved the idea when we saw the number of people in Divisoria for the school opening rush on TV (GMA).

I like eating tofu and I like their chicken, so we ordered half of the Regular Chicken, Sizzling Tofu and one order each of Shanghai and Garlic Fried Rice. Also, We were supposed to order the Mini Lumpia but were told later that they were not available.

We liked everything. The Sizzling Tofu, which were in between healthy and sinful, were so tasty and filling. Its creaminess worked well with the slight dryness of the chicken. Together, they were fabulous.

For dessert, as we were already full, I just had a Buko Pandan Special to go.

Photobucket

It was creamy, rich, decadent and soooo sweet, especially since at the time I ate it the ice cream had already melted.

Secret Recipe Mee Goreng

After we watched X-Men at Robinsons Place Ermita Cinema and subsisting on Taters popcorn, KFC funshots and French Baker cookies for 2 hours, it was now time for a real meal.

Since Secret Recipe was the nearest restaurant from the cinema and I miss their Pan Dory, that was where we ate dinner.

Photobucket

My husband wanted the Teow and Strawberry Milkshake, which unfortunately, were both not available, so as almost half of the items in their menu, so he just ordered the Mee Goreng and a soda while I ordered the one dish I was missing, the Pan-Dory Fish with Lobster Sauce.

My husband was disappointed with his Mee Goreng. The serving was small and it tasted kinda off too. While my Pan Dory also looked different, even the lobster sauce. But fortunately, it tasted okay. Not as good as before but still okay. The fries were good dipped on the lobster sauce though.
