Caffe Ti Amo

After watching Catch Me, and after my theater snacks of Quickly Taro Taro and French Baker's Peanut Butter and Oatmeal and Raisin Cookies, I had another dessert at Caffe Ti Amo. I sampled just two flavors, Blueberry Cheesecake and Dulce de Leche.

The blueberry was true to its name, just milder, same with the dulce de leche. Between the two, the dulce was sweeter and has a stronger taste. I ordered the uno waffle gelato - 1/4 waffle with fruits, whipped cream and caramel sauce, topped with gelato. It is just good for one. The fruits were just mini pieces of watermelon and a peach wedge. The waffle was crunchy on the outside but almost hollow and soft inside. It (waffle) was good with just the whipped cream and caramel sauce. It can even do without the gelato which was bland compared to the whipped cream and caramel sauce.

Btw, I were told that their gelatos have 90% less fat and sugar. This statement confused me. I just watched Lizzie McGuire The Movie, a few weeks ago. They were in Italy, and when they went inside a gelato shop, their teacher said that a gelato is like an ice cream but with just more sugar. I don't know if this is true or not. If gelatos are supposed to be liked that, sweeter than ice cream thus have more sugar, and Caffe Ti Amo just made theirs healthier, thus the 90% less fat and sugar.

Intercon Manila

While in the Makati area, I decided to try another hotel bakeshop/patisserie, I went in Intercon Manila's Cake Shop.

Here are what I bought:

Blueberry Cheesecake P180/slice

Photobucket
Thick layer of cheesecake topped with blueberry preserves, mango ball and kiwi, dressed with chantilly cream

Photobucket
This was huge. The cheesecake layer has the texture of butter, firm but will literally melt in your mouth. It was creamy, tangy, sweet, tart and dense.

Photobucket

It is now on my top list as the best blueberry cheesecake.

Chocolate Croissant (mini) P25/pc

Photobucket
Mini version of chocolate croissant/pain au chocolat.

Photobucket
This was also good. Buttery, flaky, sweet and chocolatey.

Cinnamon Roll P50

Photobucket
This was not the bread type cinnamon roll like Goldilocks, but more like a croissant cinnamon roll.

Photobucket
Every layer was pillowy-soft and sweet, with lots of raisins and sweet syrup, and with every bite bursting into buttery goodness. I just can't describe how good it was.

The best cinnamon roll for me, taste and size-wise.

Next time I'll try their Pistachio Opera Cake and Chocolate Cake. I just hope they're available.

MOMO Again

Back at Momo last weekend, we had the Momo Goes Pinoy P139, Mo Meatball Pasta P149, Strawberry Lemonade P109 (large) and Blueberry Cheesecake P125 for dessert. All are best sellers in their categories.

Momo Goes Pinoy which has tapa, tocino, cheese omelet, fried rice and atchara is a best seller in the ALL-DAY BRUNCH. An order is enough to satisfy a hungry tummy. It has most of our favourite breakfast items in an order.
The omelet stands out in this dish, being deliciously-cheesy and soft.

The Mo Meatball Pasta is the best seller in the PASTA category.
Fettuccine noodles with tomatoes and meatballs, topped with melted cheese.

The meatballs were flavourful. The sauce was made the Italian-style, with crushed and whole tomatoes. It was tangy and not the sweet Filipino-style we’re used to. I like that it taste fresh and simple.

Photobucket
The Strawberry Lemonade, a best seller in the DRINKS department, is sweetened just right and made special with strawberry and peach flavours.

Photobucket
The Blueberry Cheesecake is one of their best seller DESSERTS.

An order is big, more like 2 slices of other restos cheesecake. The only downside of the cheesecake was the blueberry topping, it looked and tasted dry. I was apprehensive to order it, but since I don’t want to judge the cake by its appearance, I still gave it a shot. Good thing that the cheesecake underneath was thick, rich and smooth and the walnut graham crust was also crunchy and nutty good.

STARBUCKS

After our dinner at Lamesa Grill, it’s now time for dessert. From the not-so-many choices at Mall of Asia, we settled at Starbucks.

These were just some of what we ordered:

Photobucket
Praline Mocha P145 (tall) is one of their holiday offerings. We had it in decaf and it tasted just like a hot chocolate.

Green Tea Frap P145 (tall), this is my all-time fave drink at Starbucks, with just the right strength from the matcha powder and richness and sweetness from the milk and cream. I also love having it with a shot of hazelnut syrup, YUMMY!

Photobucket
Heaven on Earth P130, layers of mousse and chocolate ganache. I love the ganache and that each layer of this cake amounts to a great-tasting cake.

Photobucket
Blueberry Cheesecake P130 (solo), I don’t know why but it’s way different in taste and texture from the one they sell by the slice. I think this one’s much better.

Photobucket
Chocolate Christmas Bliss P120, layers of brownie cake, chocolate meringue with chocolate chips, chocolate fudge, chocolate cake and chocolate mousse topped with chocolate ganache.

Photobucket
This was like the Chocolate Sansrival of Goldilocks because of the meringue and chocolate ganache. I like that it has chocolate mousse instead of chocolate butter cream like that of Goldilocks because it made the cake not too rich and cloying. It would have been a to-die-for cake if it’s with cashew or any nut meringue instead of just chocolate meringue.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Banoffee Pie P105, a favourite of my sister. A pie with graham cracker crust, toffee, chocolate and banana slices, topped with whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate and caramel syrup.

I think that this is #1 of all the Banoffee Pie and Banana Cream Pie that I have tasted. I like the crust, toffee, chocolate and that the banana slices retained its shape and texture and not overripe and mushy like that of Kitchen’s Best.
