My friend and I saw a post in Instagram of their Luxe Fries with Truffled Mushroom Cream, and wanted to try them ASAP.

We ordered that plus their bestseller, the Demi-Pound Burger with Foie Gras, that we asked to be split in half. 

We love, love, love their Luxe Fries with Truffled Mushroom Cream, and would definitely come back for it.

Chateau 1771 Afternoon Tea

Saw their standee inside Greenbelt mall, and decided to try their afternoon tea. 

We ordered the set good for 1-2 persons. It has two of everything and a pot of tea or coffee, we chose sencha green tea.

It was nice that it has two of everything that we got to try everything. We were just disappointed that everything on the plate was cold, except for the blueberry scones, which we like. We would have like it if they serve it (savories) warm, as it took them 15 minutes or so to serve it.

CPK Flatbread, Pasta and Fries

Had these for snacks one afternoon. 

Their fries are too cloying, or maybe because I ate them all by myself :) While I still prefer their pizzas over the flatbread.

TWG New Macaron Flavors

I like having tea at TWG and I often buy macarons to go. My favorite is the Earl Grey Fortune and Chocolate. 

Last week as I was buying yet again my favorite flavor, I saw that they have added 3 new flavors to the display. They were salted caramel, sakura and singapore surprise. Though it's my first time to see the matcha (green tea), apparently it was not part of their new flavor offerings. 

The salted caramel was good, the surprise didn't taste like their cake version, and the sakura or cherry blossoms with white chocolate was too sweet for me. The matcha was good though, I would definitely buy it again.

Bulgogi Brothers Beef Set

Since we're craving for their Premium Boneless Short Ribs, we went back and ordered their Beef Set. It has their short ribs plus 2 other kinds of beef. We thought that ordering that would be better than just ordering the short ribs, since the more beef the better. But we were wrong. The other 2 beef were not marinated like the short ribs, so it just tasted plain, even after dipping them on the sauce. Now we know better. 

We didn't order drinks and just had a refill of their Barley Tea, that according to my friend was a very healthy tea.

Myron's Place Linguini and Steak

Went out with a friend and had a late lunch at Myron's Place in Greenbelt.

I wanted the sliders and she wanted the hash, in the end we ordered Linguini with Fresh Mushrooms and Truffle Oil and Bianca Cut Steak to share. She also ordered Mojito.

The pasta was just okay, while the steak, even if we had it medium was very chewy. I do love the thick-cut fries though. The mojito, my friend said,  lacked sweetness.

P.S. As I love Happy Lemon's matcha smoothie with extra rocksalt and pearls, we had that after Myron's. Unfortunately the cashier got my order wrong and gave us matcha latte instead. 

Pinkberry Original

I wanted to order the salted caramel, but when they let me try it first, I didn't like it, I found it too sweet. Instead I had the original and chose almond roca, mochi and dark chocolate something for toppings.

Sweet Bella Cafe

I wanted to eat the shroom burger with truffled cream cheese of burger bar (my favorite burger)  but since I also wanted to try something new, I dined instead at Sweet Bella Cafe.

I wanted the truffle pasta or the croque monsieur, but the waiter was adamant on  saying that the monster burger is their bestseller and that's what I should order. I regretted listening to him.

The burger was big but I didn't like the taste of everything on it. From the buttered bun up to the not-so-fresh lettuce.  

For my dessert I ordered the hazelnut crunch. The cake was small but dense and is chocolate all over, with just a hint, rather a crunch of hazelnut (like ferrero). I didn't know that something that small could be so filling. 

To go I bought a salted caramel macaron to try. Not good though.

P.S. There's a lot of flies inside the restaurant or maybe just my corner, that they automatically put a small candle on my table. But I do love their choice of music. I felt like I was eating inside a parisian cafe. A lot of Edith Piaf. Would I be back? I don't think so. But maybe, just to buy a hazelnut crunch to go.

TWG Napoleon Tea Milkshake and Imperial Tea

I went out on a Saturday to buy a case for my Ipad and also for the nth time get a replacement for the tower fan at SM Appliance. I decided to go to Glorietta and Greenbelt first and Mall of Asia last.

Since recently I've been eating on the go, I made eating this time a priority. As soon as I arrived at Greenbelt 5, I immediately went to TWG and ordered for myself the Imperial Tea Set. And as it was very hot outside, I chose Napoleon Tea Milkshake (one of the bestsellers) instead of the usual hot tea and just added 75 pesos. The Earl Grey and Chocolate Tart was not available that afternoon :-( , so I just had my second favorite, the Singapore Surprise for my cake.

Mr Jones Rosemary Grilled Chicken and Turkey Melt

After eating a lot of sweets to tide over my hunger for a little while, just so I could shop some more, it was now time for a real meal and no shopping nor sweets can get in the way.

I was going back and forth Mr Jones and John and Yoko. Between the Rosemary Chicken of Mr Jones ( that I've already tried) and the Breaded Fish with Cheese of John and Yoko (which I haven't tried).

In the end, Mr Jones won.

 

I want something healthy (turkey/rosemary), indulgent (cheese), and sinful (fries), that I ordered one of my fave in Mr Jones. I can't eat burgers anymore, so I chose another fave that was not beef and that comes with fries, their Rosemary Grilled Chicken and Turkey Melt (P375.00)


- emmenthal and gruyere cheese, pesto, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, and cranberry compote on toasted rye






The bottom part has rosemary chicken while the top has turkey with melted cheese. Oh so indulgent. I so love the melted cheese on top that goes too well with the cranberry compote. Make that almost everything and anything goes well with the cranberry compote.

Pepper Lunch Sunday

My brother-in-law loves Pepper Lunch so much, that our recent sunday family get together lunch was held at Pepper Lunch in Greenbelt 5.

Two ordered the usual Beef Pepper Rice with Shake Shake Kani Salad. Another two ordered the Curry Beef Pepper Rice with Extra Egg and Mini Salad and another two had the Unagi/Salmon with Pepper Rice.

I ordered the Unagi/Salmon with Pepper Rice, Shake Shake Spicy Tuna Salad and Lychee Cooler for drinks.







I don't drink anything other than water nowadays but ordered the lychee cooler for a chance to win a flip video :-) I ordered the cooler with less syrup.



Unlike other supposedly lychee drinks, Pepper Lunch Lychee Cooler does use lychee. I even came across some mini lychee in the cooler.

I really like the Unagi and Salmon Combo of Pepper Lunch. Actually it is my usual order in Pepper Lunch and the Spicy Tuna Salad.

I tried my niece's Curry Beef Pepper Rice, and it has a strong curry taste, just the dry variety/kind and not the saucy type that I am used to.
