TWG Red Velvet Macaron

It did taste like red velvet, with a little bit of tea. But my favorite is still the earl grey with chocolate flavor.

TWG New Macaron Flavors

I like having tea at TWG and I often buy macarons to go. My favorite is the Earl Grey Fortune and Chocolate.

Last week as I was buying yet again my favorite flavor, I saw that they have added 3 new flavors to the display. They were salted caramel, sakura and singapore surprise. Though it's my first time to see the matcha (green tea), apparently it was not part of their new flavor offerings.

The salted caramel was good, the surprise didn't taste like their cake version, and the sakura or cherry blossoms with white chocolate was too sweet for me. The matcha was good though, I would definitely buy it again.

TWG Lasagna

My friend and I went to Resorts World Manila for their weekend sale. For dinner we ate again at TWG.

We both ordered their Bolognaise Lasagna. My drink was the Earl Grey Fortune and Chocolate Shake, while she had the Napoleon and Macadamia Shake.

The lasagna was good but was definitely very rich, that pairing it with a shake was a bad idea.

TWG Resorts World

I met up with a friend to watch Thor at Resorts World Manila two weeks ago, but before the movie we had lunch first at Noodle Wok inside the casino.

We shared on Spare ribs, Char Kway Teow and Nasi Goreng. All were good, even the Iced Tea we had for drinks. The only downside was, since it's inside the casino, it was hard to breathe from the cigarette smoke.

After the movie we had the High Tea Set of TWG.

My friend ordered the Chic Set with the vegetarian sandwich, singapore surprise cake and tea with lemongrass. While I had the Fortune Set with salmon and cream cheese sandwich, opera cake with earl grey tea and chocolate, earl grey tea and chocolate macarons and choco truffle mint tea. I love them all.

TWG Napoleon Tea Milkshake and Imperial Tea

I went out on a Saturday to buy a case for my Ipad and also for the nth time get a replacement for the tower fan at SM Appliance. I decided to go to Glorietta and Greenbelt first and Mall of Asia last.

Since recently I've been eating on the go, I made eating this time a priority. As soon as I arrived at Greenbelt 5, I immediately went to TWG and ordered for myself the Imperial Tea Set. And as it was very hot outside, I chose Napoleon Tea Milkshake (one of the bestsellers) instead of the usual hot tea and just added 75 pesos. The Earl Grey and Chocolate Tart was not available that afternoon :-( , so I just had my second favorite, the Singapore Surprise for my cake.

TWG Chic Tea

Every week I'm at TWG, either alone or with friends. Last Saturday I was with a childhood friend. I told her we should have their afternoon tea set.

She chose my favorite fortune set. Croque Monsieur is also her sandwich. For her macarons she chose lemon, praline and rose. For her tea, summer palace. She wanted polo club tea upon my mention of caramel but it wasn't available.

Just to shake things up I ordered from their chic set. I were told royal and imperial were their best sellers. I chose imperial. My finger sandwiches were foie gras, chicken with cream cheese infused with comptoir des indes tea and cucumber and cream cheese infused with earl grey fortune. Chocolate tart was my cake and crimson hill was my tea.

All 3 finger sandwiches were good. Crimson hill is a green tea with passion fruit and marigold while summer palace is also a green tea with fruits and flowers. My crimson hill smelled divine but summer palace tasted better. We both chose chocolate tart as our cake. It's a tart version of their earl grey and fortune macaron which is my favorite. It's good but best shared as it's very sweet.

TWG Latest

Overheard one server telling a customer that the silver moon tea (green tea with strawberries and vanilla) is their best seller. It was also recommended to me by another server when I asked for a green tea recommendation. But he said that it has a fruity taste which I don't like that afternoon. What I did have was the polo club tea, or green tea with caramel.

It's caramel colored and smelled of it too. It has a mild sweetness but with a stronger tea aftertaste than the christmas lights and sakura! sakura! tea.

I still got my favorite fortune tea set with croque monsieur and singapore surprise cake again. I can't help it. It took me a long time (20 minutes) to decide on my cake. In the end I still got my favorite singapore surprise. It won over the matcha chocolate, the caramel, the vanilla bourbon (puff pastry mille feuille with vanilla, bourbon and raspberries), the blueberry tart, and all the other cakes on display.

Guess my favorites won't change for a long time.

A day of favorites

I went to powerplant mall to exchange something that I bought in ever new last sunday. But before I went to ever new, I had lunch first at CPK.

I saw that they have a promotion for the month of february, 2 personal size pizza for 499. California club and italian sausage with pepper. I wanted to order that but I really miss eating my favorite original BBQ chicken pizza, so that's what I ordered, plus raspberry iced tea.

While waiting for the pizza, I drank two glasses of iced tea that when the pizza was served, I was already too full to eat. In short, I just had the pizza to go.

After exchanging the iphone bag, I went at the basement and bought a chocolate cupcake and a cookie at little miss OC's booth.
The cookie and cupcake were both moist and bitter (dark chocolate bitter).

Then off to glorietta and greenbelt I went.

I bought a centennial loaf at the baguio country club section in heaven and eggs glorietta. It's a smaller loaf of their famous raisin bread. I also bought a red velvet and valrhona chocolate cupcake at vanilla cupcake bakery.

For dinner I had carbonara at shakey's. And for dessert, my favorite avocado shake at seattle's best. Then I bought a box of 6 of my favorite macarons at TWG. Can you call this day a day of favorites?

TWG

The lady server recommended Sakura! Sakura! Green Tea. I was thinking of having paris something tea, but she said that it has a hint of cherries while the sakura was of cherry blossom. She also said that it's their bestseller.

It was mild for a tea, slightly sweet with also a bitter aftertaste.

For my main I ordered the Wagyu Burger.

It was a juicy burger with a fresh and crisp side salad. Even the fries have tea powder sprinkled on them, which gave them a truffle taste.

For dessert I bought Earl Grey and Chocolate Macaron, Scones and Green Tea Financier. I like the Earl Grey and Chocolate the most. Make that love.

Burger Bar

Been reading about them a lot these past few weeks. It piqued my curiosity that one afternoon I trooped all the way to greenbelt, and foregone all the important errands of that day, just so I can try them.

I wanted to try the Rising Shroom because of the white truffle cream cheese, but the waiter told me that I should try their bestseller burgers. The Bar Burger and The Hangover. So I ordered them both. One was to go.

I also ordered Onion Rings and The Arnold Palmer.

From the two I like the hangover burger more. It was juicy. And the addition of the sunny side up egg made it moist. The sesame bun too was soft. i just don't like the BBQ sauce that much. While the brioche bun of the bar burger wasn't buttery nor soft, the patty not juicy and the toppings were a little bit dry.

The onion rings were sprinkled with BBQ powder I were told . They were very filling that when I ate them with my burger I was only able to eat half of my burger. Btw, according to the waiter their patties were quarter pounder in size.

My arnold palmer drink, a mix of lemonade and iced tea, tasted just like a lemonade would. None of the iced tea taste.

I wanted to try one of their desserts in a jar but I was too full and I don't have anyone to share it with. And since they all have ice cream in it, I can't have them to go. Maybe next time I will.

For my to-go dessert, I bought my favorite macarons at TWG.

I bought the box of 6. 4 of my uber favorite earl grey and chocolate and one each of lemon and caramel.

I ate them for midnight snack with twg emperor sencha tea at home. The good life.
