Layers of oatmeal and chocolate served with drizzles of chocolate syrup.
It was chewy and dense, my kind of dessert. It also resembles a revel bar with the thick chocolate tasting like Goya's chocolate.
The server described it as fudgy as a brownie and he was right. It was really fudgy, with the chocolate even sticking to the roof of my mouth.

Kooky and Luscious Dementia
Layers of dark Belgian chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse, dark truffle cake and ganache for P130.00 a slice.
I liked the white chocolate mousse and sometimes also the dark chocolate. But it does seem too bitter sometime. While the truffle cake was too dry.
Overall I find the cake too rich and bitter.
It is served frozen and therefore should be eaten an hour max after ordering (in case you have it to go like I did).

Goma Soft - Serve
I ordered again my favorite Beef Pepper Rice at Pepper Lunch Shang and for dessert I tried their Goma Soft-Serve (P39.00)
Soft-serve ice cream topped with black sesame paste and sesame seeds.
The black sesame tasted of chocolate and buchi that it made me liked it more than their kuromitsu (caramel-flavored). It was also presented like a vanilla sundae with chocolate frosting.
I love everything in this dessert, the taste and presentation, and especially its affordable price.

Capricciosa
I was out with my college friends several weeks back and after the movies we had dinner at Capricciosa in Greenbelt.
The walk was long, from Glorietta to Greenbelt that when we arrived at the resto we were already thirsty and famished. It was a minus that they don't serve complimentary breads or anything, being an Italian resto where carb overload is a must. Without anything to munch on we drowned our hunger reminiscing of our college days.
After close to 15 minutes of waiting our appetizer of Calamari Frito (P320.00) arrived.
Deep fried squid with lemon and tartar sauces.
It was the usual squid rings only more expensive and saltier.
Then came our pizza and pasta orders of mostly if not all their best sellers.
We had Capricciosa Pizza (P485.00) which has salami, bacon, mushrooms and bell peppers on a thin crust and Quattro Formaggi (P485.00) which has cream cheese, blue cheese, mozzarella and parmesan cheese on a thick crust.
We all liked the Capricciosa over their Quattro Formaggi and their thin crust over the thick. With the price, we were expecting something bigger but were served with just a plate-size one.
In the Quattro Formaggi the blue cheese taste (cambozola) overpowered the taste of the other 3 cheeses. And blue cheese being an acquired taste, none of my friends liked it, while I on the other hand prefer Gorgonzola over Cambozola.
For our pasta we ordered their Lasagna Capricciosa (P620.00) and Linguine with Salmon in Cream (P670.00).
Again we were expecting a bigger serving but were served with something the size of Pizza Hut's solo pizza. Looking at it it was hard to picture the seven (7) of us sharing the dish. It was good though, but we never got over its price and size.
While in the Linguine Pasta the noodles were al dente and the salmon were generously incorporated in the pasta. It was too salty though, like a daing. Still it was a good pasta dish. Something that you wouldn't like at first but will grow on you.
For dessert we had their Homemade Tiramisu (P220.00).
Layers of liqueur drizzled sponge cake soaked in espresso with mascarpone cheese and dusted with cocoa powder.
The coffee flavor was subtle but the liqueur was slightly more than I liked, the mascarpone layer though was good.
Overall their service was fast, their servers friendly, the food was just okay, the servings were too little for its price and the prices of their dishes were horrendously expensive.
Will I come back? Alone maybe, only to try their new solo dishes (ranging from P170.00 up). But for a get together with friends or sundays with family, I prefer CPK for pizza and pasta.

The Russian Cookie House
Last weekend at the Baker's Dozen in Powerplant Mall I bought the Black and White Almond Cookies (trial size window box) from The Russian Cookie House at just P90.00
I love nuts of any kind that I was drawn to their Black and White Almond Cookies. I liked the white and dark chocolate coating of the cookies and also the whole almonds on top but not the cookies inside, they were dry and bland.

Max Brenner Cookies
The cookies, white and milk chocolate, were both chewy with lots of nuts and chocolate chunks. Before they were served with fruit cocktail and cream, now they were just served with dusting of powdered sugar, that I asked for something to dip them on thus the caramel sauce. It did taste better. But for those who like it not too sweet opt for the vanilla sauce and for the chocoholics, the chocolate sauce.

French Quarter Surprise
Cheesecake with a chocolate crust and bruleed top, served with mango slices on raspberry and mango coulis.
The mangoes were sweet and ripe, both coulis too were sweet and had a fresh taste. The chocolate crust/base on the other hand didn't complement the cheesecake and when taken as a whole, the bruleed top overpowered the taste of everything in this dessert.

Pizza Hut Chicken Tenders
Fried chicken tenderloins with a mild Cajun kick. Served with french fries and BBQ sauce.
Part of Pizza Hut Bistro's Tex-Mex Specials for only P175.00
Ten pieces or so of chicken strips with a spicy sauce reminiscent of what KFC used to have (which I love paired with my hot and crispy).
The chicken strips were tender but thin and with crispy breading. It did have a mild kick to it made spicier by the sauce/dip.
The fries were thick but not that crispy. It would have been better if the fries were spiced like that of CAJUN (or something in that level) in FOOD CHOICES Glorietta (closed for a number of years already), which were the best fries for me and my husband. Up until now we can't get over how good they were and reminisce every now and then.

Momo's Truffle Cake
Layer of chocolate cake and chocolate ganache decorated with chocolate swirl and chocolate syrup.
It was in between a cake and a brownie.
It was fudgy, dense and even crunchy on the edges like a brownie and moist on the bottom part like a cake.
It was a fudgy cake. Didn't like it that much though, there are far more better cakes in Momo than this. The ganache was too thick and rich (too much) that even a little seemed a lot already.

Max Brenner
One rainy afternoon, I had Max Brenner's White Chocolate Suckao.
The 'suckao' is actually a utensil that is designed as a stirrer and a straw for sipping the chocolate all up or for sucking the cacao.
The milk and white chocolate mixture was so creamy, rich and sweet that I think I am better off with their Dark Chocolate next time.
Just be careful on sipping thru the metal straw. Since it's a great conductor of heat, it's hot to the touch especially on your first sip.

Grilled Fish with Gorgonzola Pasta
Part of Italiannis Big Lunch Promo.
Grilled fish with an Italian relish of tomatoes, olives and capers and pasta in Gorgonzola sauce.
The fish has a good grilled taste and was also grilled perfectly, it just needed something more in my opinion, like a salsa or something 'coz the tomatoes, olives and capers didn't cut it for me.
It was also not a good partner to the Gorgonzola pasta. It is better battered and fried if paired with the Gorgonzola and not grilled. While the Gorgonzola pasta was not that creamy and was even a little bit dry.
