Pizza Hut Carbonara and Caesar Salad

I just went out for an errand, rather make that a short shopping trip. I went out almost in time for dinner, that I bought something to take home for my dinner.

I wasn't in the mood for anything or wasn't craving for anything, I just wanted a break from Breaded Fish Fillet, Laing and Leche Flan, which I was having for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 3 consecutive days already.

Photobucket

That evening I wasn't in the mood for KFC, Jollibee, Max's, Aristocrat, McDonald's, Red Ribbon, Goldilocks and Greenwich. There's only one left - Pizza Hut. They're the restaurants/food shops in my area.

I'm also not in the mood for a Pizza, so I was just looking at their Pasta, Mozzarella Sticks and Rice Dishes, when a staff approached me and offered me their P99 Meal Promo.

From the choices, I liked the Carbonara Meal with Cream of Mushroom Soup and drinks. But I had the soup changed to Caesar Salad. Btw, you have to pay an extra P15 for take out, if you're having the P99 Meal to go.

Photobucket

At home, I had the Salad first.

Photobucket

It was just an okay salad. The leaves weren't that fresh anymore and it was overdressed.

The Carbonara was okay too. The noodles were evenly coated with sauce and there were enough ham slices in there and just a few mushrooms.

Photobucket

It was a nice change from the fried food and very sweet Leche Flan I was having for days now.

Gong Cha Matcha Smoothie

I was in line at Chatime for a Matcha Red Bean Smoothie, when I was told that they won't serve any smoothie that evening. I wasn't in the mood for a milk tea as I was craving for a slush/smoothie, that I tried my luck at Gong Cha instead.

Photobucket

I was looking at their menu board of the smoothies they offered namely Ice Milk, Chocolate and Coffee. I don't want any of the three and was on my way out when I saw their turned down standee of Matcha and Taro Smoothie. I asked if they were available, and when they said yes, I ordered one Matcha Smoothie with extra pearl and 50% sugar.

Photobucket

It was different compared with Chatime's Matcha Red Bean, as it has a different green tea/matcha taste. Something that I haven't tasted in my years of drinking and trying out different green tea. I don't know what kind of green tea they used. The taste was just new to me. Anyways, I like it, but not as much as Chatime's Matcha Red Bean Smoothie.

HK 88 Dessert

Photobucket
I saw them a couple of times already and made a mental note of trying some one at a time.

That afternoon, after an hour or so of shopping, I was in need of a snack.

Photobucket
Photobucket

I looked around their menu board full of photos of their food, and was torn between Mixed Fruits with Italian Jelly ( their best seller together with Glutinous Rice) and Mango Pancake. I also wanted Durian Pancake as I still have Singaporean food hangover, but I didn't go the adventurous route that afternoon and went for Mango Pancake instead.

Photobucket

I like the cream, and I can ignore the overripe but still good mangoes. The pancakes were thicker than what I would have wanted, but overall they can be a nice snack/dessert.

Sbarro's Fish Marinara

Photobucket
- fish with tomatoes and wine sauce

The fish tasted fresh and was thick and filling. I also like the sauce of tomatoes and wine. It was somewhat of a healthy dish, that needs to be paired with something unhealthy, like their Garlic Bread and Chef d'Angelo's Fries and Ranch Dressing, which I did.

Pepper Lunch + Red Mango

My first time to order the Chicken Pepper Rice with extra chicken.
Photobucket
Photobucket
I didn't like it and the chicken smelled funny. Should have ordered my favorite Salmon instead.

Dessert was at Red Mango.
Photobucket
I had the medium Green Tea Swirl with dezato mochi balls, chocolate chips and cheesecake. Love everything on my cup.

Marriott Hotel Sweets

Bought the following sweets at Marriott Hotel's Bakeshop:

Photobucket

*Brownies
Photobucket
Photobucket
I were told that its their bestseller and that it doesn't have nuts. What it has are caramel swirled in with the brownies.
I didn't like it as all I can taste was sweetness or all caramel and none of the chocolate.

*Assorted Cookies
- strawberry, oatmeal, walnut, pistachio, crinkles (most ordered cookie in their shop) and butter eclair (not sure with the name)
Photobucket
Strawberry
- with white chocolate chunks
- it almost tasted bland when eaten right after the crinkles. But I like it as it wasn't that sweet, and that it was moist, soft and chewy, like it has coconuts in it.
Oatmeal
- just like any oatmeal cookie
-  moist and not that sweet
Walnut
- the big walnut in the middle tasted stale and ruined the whole chocolate cookie experience.
Pistachio
- also not that sweet, moist and tasted like it has coconuts. Didn't taste like pistachio but had quite a number of pistachio nuts scattered in the cookie.
Crinkles
- crispy and very sweet.
Butter eclair
- the butter cookie alone was bland, the chocolate coating alone was slightly bland too, but together they were okay.

*Rocky Road Bark
Photobucket
- milk chocolate, nuts and marshmallows
- I didn't think I would like it but I did, a lot. I was sad I just bought one pack and not more. It wasn't that sweet and it had almost everything that I like. A great pre-bed snack with tea. But better if it's dark chocolate and not milk chocolate. Tasted like Cadbury's chocolates too.

There were a lot more to try. Like their assorted truffles, dark chocolate, dark chocolate with nutella, white chocolate bark, strawberry white chocolate bark and huge heart-shaped cookies that can be shared by 8 people.

Bistro Ravioli

I went out with a friend last Thursday. When he asked me where I wanted to eat, I said anywhere, just as long as they have fries.

He chose Bistro Ravioli.
Photobucket

For starters we had Caesar Salad.
Photobucket

The lettuce and dressing were okay. The bacon bits were just too hard that they can be mistaken for pebbles :-)

Photobucket

Since they are named Bistro Ravioli, we thought they must sell good raviolis too, that we had their Spinach and Feta Ravioli, their bestseller, we were told.
Photobucket

The sauce and filling were nice, the ravioli dough were just too chewy/rubbery. They can't compare to CPK's Mushroom Ravioli.

Photobucket

We had Herb Chicken next.
Photobucket

They were served with fries.

Photobucket

Both the chicken and fries were too oily, that I told my friend, we could have a better deal of chicken and fries at Jollibee or at Chef d'Angelo's Sampler 2. But I guess we'll never know unless we try.

Chatime

After Swensen's we bought more sweet and icy drinks at one of my favorite bubble tea shops, Chatime.

My husband had the Yogurt Lychee QQ, which was part of their Lychee Series.

Photobucket
I tasted more of the lychee and none of the tangy yogurt on this drink.

While I had my favorite Matcha Red Bean Smoothie with extra pudding and pearl.

Photobucket
Photobucket
I like my order. It has a lot of ingredients and texture. From icy to smooth, to chewy, to crunchy.

Swensen's

Went back at Swensen's, but with my husband this time. He loves ice cream, so I brought him here.

We had

Fondue For 2
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
- green tea, chocolate, strawberry and almond ice cream, with mango, banana and wafer
We didn't use the chocolate fondue that much as we already like the ice cream without the melted chocolate.

and

Nutty Crispy Tower
Photobucket
Photobucket
I like the nutty tower more as it has nuts, crunchy chocolate and cereals. I just changed the mocha almond fudge to chocolate chip and retained the macadamia nut.

My husband wanted to order more but I told him he should try from other shops first. I told you, he loves ice cream.

Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe

I love going to HK. I love the sights, the fashion, the malls, the parks, the amusement parks, Disneyland, the weather (esp around this time and until April) and the food.

I wanted to experience xmas in HK, Korea and NY but spent xmas in KL and SG instead. But I'll definitely go there one of these days.

I wanted to try the shaved ice creations of Lugang Cafe, but they were full and had quite a number of customers waiting to be seated that I don't think they would accommodate someone with just a shaved ice order, that I walked around the mall a second time to dine somewhere new, that's when I saw Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe.

What a coincidence, as I was also thinking of HK food for days now.

There were a lot of familiar HK and Macau cafe food, that choosing what to order was hard work.
I wanted to try them all at once.

But since it's not possible as I was a solo diner, I narrowed down my choices to the Cheese Baked Rice with Fish Fillet and Fish and Chips. But when I asked the waiter, he said that the Baked Rice was the popular order than the Fish and Chips. I went with what's popular and ordered Cheese Baked Rice with Fish Fillet.

Photobucket

I were also told that the rice was cooked with butter. So that made it a buttered rice with breaded fish fillet topped with generous amount of cheese.

Photobucket

It was an indulgent and very filling dish, that's also hard to finish in one sitting, or was it because I just had a Gong Cha Matcha Smoothie on my way there?

Anyways, I can't wait to go back and try some more of the dishes. They gave me a Cafe de Coral vibe, that was very comforting and familiar.

Secret Recipe Chocolate Cheese

Photobucket
It was very dark, even the chocolate chips on top tasted like coffee. But I like it. I like that it wasn't that sweet and that the cheesecake was thick but smooth.
Actually I was thinking of going back and buying some more chocolate cheese slices or maybe a whole cake this time, I know I can finish it in a new york minute.

Tony Roma's

Had a post valentine's date with my husband at Tony Roma's in Makati.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Ordered The Roma Feast with regular slab ribs, BBQ chicken, sausages, coleslaw and corn on the cob.
We had the corn on the cob replaced with fries. Why? Because we both love fries.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Everything was good. Even the complimentary bread and butter. I just always pair my ribs with rice and coleslaw. Everything else I can eat with fries and bread, just not Tony Roma's ribs. They're just so rich that they should be paired with something bland like rice.

Photobucket

My husband also ordered Long Island Ice Tea.

Photobucket

It was good according to him.
