Old Swiss Inn

I was supposed to eat at Old Swiss Inn with my mother, but she wanted to stay away from any rich/fattening food at the moment. So since I already made a reservation, I just went there solo.

Since old Swiss Inn is known for their fondue, I ordered the Beef Bourguignon Fondue. Their fondues are good for 2-3 people.

Beef Bourguignon Fondue has 300 grams of prime rib with a carousel of sauces namely, gravy peppercorn, mushroom gravy, mayo curry, mayo paprika, tomato concasse, thousand island, kikkoman, mayo marmalade, mayo garlic. Banana, pineapple, pickles and onions were also in the carousel. On top of the carousel was a pot of hot oil.

You dip the beef on the oil, the length of time will depend if you want it medium rare, medium well or well done. I wanted it medium well but can't seem to get the perfect time.

From the sauces I like the mushroom gravy, mayo curry and mayo garlic.

They won't allow beef fondue for take away, but if you insist, you can, but it won't include all the sauces. You just have to pick your favorites, maybe up to 4 sauces.

I had a great time at old swiss inn. The service was prompt and friendly. The beef were great. The place was clean, although it smelled musky or has this old musky smelI. I would definitely bring my husband here or at their makati branch soon.

To complete my old swiss inn experience I bought one of their best sellers, the Toblerone Cheesecake.

I thought this would really taste like the Toblerone chocolate, but I was wrong. The cheesecake was very bland, and the only thing that has a hint of chocolate was the swirl on top. I was disappointed to pay 250 + tax + service charge for that disappointment of a cheesecake. I should have bought the fondue instead, but I know that I won't be able to finish all of it as I just ate an entire beef fondue all by my lonesome.

Happy Eating!
