Wednesday was her real birthday, so we also went out that day.
For breakfast we had Jollibee Longganisa, Pancakes and lots of Hot Chocolate. Then it was off to the mall.
We shopped hard again and only stopped for a late lunch at Mang Inasal ( my mother loves their chicken pecho meal).
We each had different orders. What I had was Bangus Sisig and Halo-Halo. Both were good.
After lunch we shopped some more before going home to prepare for my sister's flight back to sg. When she was already packed we ate my mother's bday cake and chef tony's creamy parmesan and white chocolate with walnuts popcorn, while waiting for our ride.
After dropping her off the airport, we went to Resorts World to shop and have a very late dinner. We ate at Thousand Cranes Shabu-Shabu.
We ordered the Seafood and Chicken Breast and Angus Beef and Seafood, and two orders of Japanese Rice.
It was a satisfying dinner. Loved the Japanese rice. Everyone did.
For dessert, as we already ate a whole lot of my mother's chocolate cake, we just had mcdonald's choco mc dip. Shopping again after that and then it was time to go home.
Back at home, everyone slept right away while I had a piece of the bday cake before going to sleep. What a full 2 days we had.

Cabalen and Cafe Mary Grace
It was my mother's special day and my sister and her bf were in town to celebrate it with us.
We had homemade beef burgers and kesong puti sandwiches for breakfast, got ready and then it was off to Cabalen for lunch.
We availed of their eat-all-you-can Filipino buffet. Drinks were not included in the buffet, I just had house water while my mother had Sago't Gulaman, my sister had Green Mango Shake and her bf, Buco Shake.
There were 3 choices for soups that noon, Kalabasa, Sinigang and Bulalo. I had Kalabasa. It was good.
There were many rice, noodles, salads and viands choices but as I'm allergic to shrimps and I wanted to stay away from pork and I just had beef that morning I just chose Beringhe, Pancit Canton, Chicken Adobo, Dinuguan (just the sauce, which btw was very good), Tofu Sisig, Crispy Kangkong, Breaded Dilis (not that good, were a little cold) and Grilled Bangus. For desserts they have Kakanins like Maja Blanca, Palitaw (good), Biko, Leche Flan (which they will give you upon request), Fresh Fruits (Banana, Pineapple), Ginataang Halo-Halo, Minatamis na Saging and Halo-Halo.
As I love Gulaman and Sago, I had a lot of Halo-Halo and filled them mostly with Gulaman and Sago. I had the traditional Filipino Halo-Halo with evaporated milk and also the Thai version with coconut milk. I love Halo-Halo so much that I just had one plate of the buffet and filled the rest of my tummy space with desserts (mostly Halo-Halo).
We walked off the calories by shopping for clothes, accessories, food and home and bedroom accessories. We were so engrossed with shopping that we forgot to stop for dinner and only remembered it 30 minutes to the mall's closing. We chose Cafe Mary Grace.
As soon as we sat down we were told that our orders will be their last orders for the day.
My sister chose Carbonara, Mango Bene and Sangria, while me and the rest had the Mushroom Cream, Chocolate Cake, Black Velvet and Soda (as when we were giving our Peach Tea orders, we were told that the kitchen's already closed:-( )
The mushroom cream was so good, as in really, really good, that my sister even regretted ordering the Carbonara. Thinking about it, I might have one again this week :-)
As the mall's already closed by the time we finished our pasta. We just had the cakes to go.
At home when I ate the chocolate cake, I found it dry and the caramel filling too strong (almost taste like coffee), but when I had it again the next day, the filling was just the way I want it ( subtle caramel taste), the ganache fudgey and the cake a little bit moist.
My sister loves the service at Cafe Mary Grace Robinsons Place Manila. She said that they were courteous, know their products and give recommendations ( they even asked our mother if she suffers from palpitations when drinking coffee, as their coffee is very strong, and thus they recommended decaf for our mother) and very accommodating.

Clucky's
After my check-up and before my routine test, I were told by the one adminestering the test to eat first, as they can't perform the test accurately. And so I did.
I wanted the Mushroom Cream Pasta of Cafe Mary Grace, but along the way I passed by Clucky's and decided to have Chicken Burger and Parmesan Fries instead. I chose the combo meal that comes with drinks and upgraded my parmesan fries to large.
For the burger I were asked if I wanted the soy garlic or spicy. I chose soy garlic. And for the fries' dip I chose aioli.
I enjoyed eating my order as the burger and the fries weren't as salty as traditional fast food burger and fries, that I didn't feel
any guilt eating them. The bun of the burger was warm and soft, the burger which is made from chicken fillet was breaded thinly and spiced just right. While the fries were thick and firm.
I wanted to try their dark chocolate gelato too but decided to just buy selecta's hazelnut brownie to eat later. Maybe next time I will try it.

Mochiko
After my Manang's meal I bought a piece each of cookie dough and potato chip chocolate mochi ice cream at Mochiko, also inside the Food Choices.
I were told they were their bestsellers together with green tea and black sesame.
I like the cookie dough as it's milky and very creamy, also that it has a big chunk of chocolate chip cookie inside. My favorite though is the potato chip chocolate, sweet and salty.

Manang's
I was inside the Food Choices in Glorietta looking for a good place to eat. I saw that they already have a Pepper Lunch Express inside and was on my way to fall in line when I chanced upon Manang's. I then texted a friend who have already tried them if they were any good. And she answered I like them. So I gave them a shot.
I ordered the 2 piece chicken with spaghetti and added an extra rice.
For my chicken I chose original.
The chicken was indeed very tasty, but only on the outside. If you're like me who doesn't eat chicken skin, then you wouldn't like it that much. I was thinking of maybe next time I can ask for the sauce to be put on the side and not coated on the chicken. While the spaghetti tasted just like a watered down ketchup.

Racks and Mcdonald's
Out with my family, we had a very late lunch at Racks.
We ordered one of their family set meals that was good for 10 people. Btw, there were only 6 of us.
The surf and turf platter has a full rack of pork ribs, 2 orders of fish and chips, a platter of rice, a platter of spaghetti, 3 side dishes and 2 pitcher of soda.
For our side dishes we had baked beans, broccoli and cheese and mac and cheese (no photo of the mac and cheese).
I like everything, the pork ribs the least as there were a lot of fatty parts But that afternoon, I surprisingly like the fish and chips more than anything. It was unlike the first time I had it. The breading wasn't that thick that you can no longer taste the fish inside. And I definitely like the tartar sauce. And the crispy, chubby fries.
For my nephew, we ordered clam chowder. An order comes with garlic bread.
My niece was half joking when she said that she now understands why it's called clam chowder as there's only one clam in the chowder :-) nevertheless it was thick and tasty.
After our late lunch we did a little bit of shoe and bag shopping before eating supper at Mcdonald's. They wanted something light as they were still full from our late lunch/early dinner at Racks.
Some of them ordered the Big Mac meal, cheeseburger meal, filet o' fish meal, mostly with caramel sundae and chicken nuggets. While I had the Mc chicken sandwich meal, caramel sundae and chicken nuggets.
I was pretty full after that that I immediately fell asleep as soon as we got home, and didn't have anymore my usual late sweet snack.

Cocoa Poppers and Frostings Cupcakes
Since I always buy sweets to eat at home, I bought my favorite Cocoa Poppers at Parvati in Trinoma and cupcakes at Frostings.
At Frostings I bought my favorite, Brazo de Mercedes, and 3 new cupcake flavors, Chocolate Blackout, Milk Chocolate (formerly known as Swiss Chocolate) and White Chocolate Red Velvet.
I didn't like the Blackout and Milk Chocolate as they just tasted sweet and didn't taste of chocolate. But what I happened to like more was the White Chocolate Cuplet as that tiny cupcake has 3 layers of white chocolate (top, middle and bottom) and 2 layers of red velvet cake.

A day of favorites
I went to powerplant mall to exchange something that I bought in ever new last sunday. But before I went to ever new, I had lunch first at CPK.
I saw that they have a promotion for the month of february, 2 personal size pizza for 499. California club and italian sausage with pepper. I wanted to order that but I really miss eating my favorite original BBQ chicken pizza, so that's what I ordered, plus raspberry iced tea.
While waiting for the pizza, I drank two glasses of iced tea that when the pizza was served, I was already too full to eat. In short, I just had the pizza to go.
After exchanging the iphone bag, I went at the basement and bought a chocolate cupcake and a cookie at little miss OC's booth.
The cookie and cupcake were both moist and bitter (dark chocolate bitter).
Then off to glorietta and greenbelt I went.
I bought a centennial loaf at the baguio country club section in heaven and eggs glorietta. It's a smaller loaf of their famous raisin bread. I also bought a red velvet and valrhona chocolate cupcake at vanilla cupcake bakery.
For dinner I had carbonara at shakey's. And for dessert, my favorite avocado shake at seattle's best. Then I bought a box of 6 of my favorite macarons at TWG. Can you call this day a day of favorites?
